As for the NFC North...

Packers - B- - This was without doubt one of the strangest drafts in the entire league for me...Morgan felt like a reach and there were better OL prospects on the board at the time...if the plan is to play him at LT then I don't feel that is a good plan...I really like Cooper as a prospect and if the are moving to a 4-3 then it's a great pick...if they are playing him as an ILB in a 3-4 then I don't like it as much...they then paid McKinney a ton of money this offseason only to then use a 2nd, 4th & 5th on safeties...then use a 3rd on another LB who has a similar skill set to Cooper which felt like a reach...used a 3rd on Lloyd who I like but again not that high after they spent a lot of money on Jacobs & resigned Dillon so not sure where his carriers are coming from...they add some OL depth which is never a bad thing later in the draft and get a fairly decent QB prospect which again is a good move...no doubt they needed help in the back 7 and they have got that here so it's not terrible but I just think they doubled up with a lot of similar skill sets at non-primer positions and missed on the OL pick in the 1st.

This is Gutey's MO when it comes to doubling down at positions that are thin and/or of need. He did it in 2019 when we signed Preston Smith and ZaDarius Smith to contracts by then picking Rashan Gary in the draft. Fast-forward to this off-season and we signed McKinney to a deal and followed it up by drafting Javon Bullard, Evan Williams and Kitan Oladapo at Safety. The talk is about both safety positions being interchangeable. And Bullard gives us experience playing not only Safety but in the nickel as well. At LB we have Quay Walker and some potential with McDuffie but that's really it. Doubling down at this position made sense with where we are currently at currently and down the road. Rather excited about Cooper at LB with the movement to the 4-3 next to Quay.

Morgan was the curveball for some. I thought we would have went with Graham Barton out of Duke out of those available at the time.

RB was a position of need that many expected later in the draft as Dillion is only under for one year. And from my understanding we could part ways with him without much cap cost but I don't recall the specifics.

HE learned this from TT who learned it from Ron Wolf! Ron Wolf went CB in rounds 1, 2 and 3. one year. Mike McKenzie, the 3rd rounder, turned out the other two did not.

It's a good feeling to say I am confident that next year we won't be picking high enough to get close to these two hahaha

tankathon currently has Mykel mocked to us at 20

 ha ha

pretty respectful for them to have us as a PO wildcard loser at 20

 CAR #1 again

At 6'3?  Maybe.  I doubt it.

nothing permanent of course, but for his Rookie season I can EASILY see this

Velus should show-OUT some returning KOs with plenty of room to secure the ball before take-off ha ha

I think we will eventually Draft a Stud KR bc Poles wants to make the most of EVErY position  ...but for now, Rome is PR1

That's 7.6M in cuts right there, without having to kick the can down the road. I think that should be enough to sign a 1 year edge rusher (still a few stopgaps on the market including Ngakoue). But what Poles ultimately does is usually well disguised.

I'm less certain about Homer and Blasingame since both are core ST but there's always a way to dig up some cap room when it's pivotal.  Only the top 51 contracts count against the cap now anyway so if he adds salaries above that mark others fall below it.

I think Poles will wait 'til after the OTA to decide on what to do.  In addition to Booker and has at least two more pass rush specialist types in Martin and Handy and there's also DRob to evaluate as to whether he's made any progress at all.  Lots of bodies to look at.

We'll see.  I doubt they risk him doing that.

I think this new KR was tailor made for Velus.   It favors fast RBs or good running WRs.

I loved the Rams draft. I am a Verse guy, but Fiske is also a guy I was high on. Corum is a great fit with McVey. Kinchens seems like good value late in R3. Limmer and Tyler Davis are both guys I would have taken at least a round earlier.

Steelers getting Fautanu and Frazier is something I was hoping to see Poles pull off

Rome was my next choice tho and then plenty of love for Brock

It's all about the trenches after the QB

I saw a stat where OL drafted in round 1 were 55-60% likely to get the second contract w drafting Team. WRs in R1, 26% 🧐

ROME does not worry me at all tho.

League-wide Velus is helped out the most with this rule change and should be EVER-grateful

Maybe we see him handle enough KOs well enough to try him out again at PR ?? NAHhh just bull****ing, Velus never sees another PR

Barring a FA signing, Rome and Scott will likely rotate there

I see Rome getting the opportunities bc he is lowman in WR room for now and we want to get the ball into his hands amap !

Now that the Draft is over, all that is left to do is to sign a scrap-heap DT and then hopefully sign the TOp scrapheap DE

I want to give Dexter and Pickens EVERY opportunity to step up ...if/when it looks like neither have improved in camp we can still make a trade.

I think we can get a Yannick Ngakoue caliber vet from cuts. Looks like CIN is set on not moving Hendrickson..

 Monitor Connor Williams.

Look for a Grizzled SMART qb vet to mentor Caleb..

Let the dust settle and then after year one with Caleb we see where to go from there.

Odunze only returned 3 punts in college.  It's just that one went for a TD that causes some to believe he can do it in the NFL.  I'm 100% certain they won't risk having him return punts.  PR is one of the reasons they brought Pettis back.  IMHO Scott might be another prospect for it.

But I do agree the new KO rules should benefit Velus Jones and Khalil Herbert as well since team may need two deep returners now in order to cover the entire width of the field.  Herbert showed some talent as a KR prior to his getting the nod as lead RB last year.
