Well plus their coach who built the program left, so they along with the now Harbaugh-less UM are back the decline spiral.

I'm not convinced the Michigan thing isn't sustainable for at least a little while.  The bones of that team are good (they are excellent in the trenches) and they are an old school blue blood.  The problem they this year have is a mundane one, as Alex Orji is not the guy.

Like Harbaugh barely coached last year!

Merts is Mertz.

The Gators even targeting Mertz through the portal should tell anyone all they need to know about how far the Gators have fallen.  Tough times in Gainesville.

They had Richardson two years go. That is a very rapid decline.

I don't think they're going to fade into oblivion but having 3 of the current top 4 teams on their schedule with a new HC and QB isn't exactly a recipe for success.  I wouldn't be surprised if they had 4 or 5 losses this year.

On the other hand, if they win 2 of their games against Texas, USC, Oregon, and Ohio State they're almost certainly in the playoff.

That's assuming USC has the same luster that we think they can be.  I think they need 2 of 3 wins against Texas, Oregon, and Ohio State to make the playoffs.  USC probably helps but doesn't assure them a playoff spot especially if USC isn't impressive.

Ohio State might lose one game. They are the clear favorite to win the B1G.
