The Gnat
Yakov Trenin to 4-year, $14 million to the Wild. He's a 27 year old Russian forward. Probably a line 3/4 guy but generally in that 15 goal range with a +/- generally as a +. How many Russians can we get here to try and keep Kaprizov around. Was that when Three-Finger Brown was striking you out?

He's a big body and supposedly he's very good on the penalty kill.
swede700
Quote The brilliance of the Dillingham deal has a different sparkle and tint to it than the maneuvers that brought in Gobert, Conley and NAW. The abiding purpose of those two earlier trades was to fundamentally alter the culture. This latest roster addition is brilliant (dictionary definition: “exceptionally clever or talented”) because of the audacity and innovation required to execute it – the process itself is infused with a scrappy temperament and sends a clear message that, linear path or not, the march toward a championship requires a deeper commitment than the one that took them to the conference finals. https://www.minnpost.com/sports/2024/07/the-brilliance-of-the-minnesota-timberwolves-2024-nba-draft-rob-dillingham/
The Gnat
Jon Middleton is back for another 4 years and extension on the defensive side of the things. Wild are probably pretty limited in what they'll do after this.

It seems like he's giving the big 3 to every player we sign; term, dollars, and the NTC/NMCs.
The Gnat
Twins got another win yesterday. However, Royce Lewis tweaked a groin muscle. More to come on the severity of that, but hopefully not that long a stint on the IL for him.
The Gnat
Brooks Lee is on his way up. It'll be a long drive from St. Paul.
The Gnat
Brooks Lee since call-up for the Twins 3-6 with 2 RBI. Twins are 1 and 1 with him. Also seeing that while Royce Lewis is likely to be out through the All Star break, coming up soon, he isn't expected to be out long like the start of the season.

vike daddy
Jose Miranda joined Johnny Kling (1902), Pinky Higgins (1938) and Walt Dropo (1952) as the only players in MLB history to record a hit in 12 straight at-bats. #MNTwins
The Gnat
That was a great weekend for Miranda and really a great stretch as of late. His numbers are impressive this year. And taking 2 of 3 from the Astros is nice always as well. Twins have been cooking as of late. Lee with his first major league HR as well a couple games ago.
The Gnat
Twins with a harder fought win than it should have been against the White Sox. But it's probably mainly worth noting that Brooks Lee is continuing to hit well. Not overmatched at all. And Wallner hit a bomb with an exit velocity of 116.7 mph I believe, tied for the hardest hit HR by the Twins this season.
