New Orleans signed cornerback Joejuan Williams and waived center Sincere Haynesworth with an injury designation, the team announced.

Williams, 26, was most recently with the Vikings, who cut him May 14. He had remained a free agent since.

When Packers training camp began in July, the team hoped either Anders Carlson or Greg Joseph would run away with the competition. While Joseph was coming off an inconsistent 2023 season, Carlson is fighting for a roster spot after a rocky rookie season.

On Tuesday, just days out from the Packers’ final preseason game, there was still no clear winner. Joseph went 2-for-5 on field-goal attempts, while Carlson made 4-of-5. Alex Hale, who Green Bay signed as added competition, went 3-for-5.

Following Tuesday’s practice, the race to become the Packers kicker in 2024 remains ugly.

Cowboys to sign Terrace Newman if their corner depth gets a bit thin?

Xavier Rhodes is only 34...he can probably still suit up...he just played 2 yrs ago for the Cowboys.

Once hyped up as a potential first-round pick, Andrew Booth has shown just how big of a mistake that would have been. The Vikings may have dodged that bullet, but they still fell for the former Clemson cornerback by making him the 42nd overall pick in 2022.

While Booth is still just 23, it quickly became clear that he’s not one of the top three cornerbacks on the Dallas roster. Heck, he may not even be among the top four or five corners.

Andrew Booth’s preseason stats with Cowboys: 17 targets, 12 receptions, 208 yards allowed, 1 TD

His performance during Saturday’s 26-19 loss to the Cowboys won’t help either. Booth allowed a 78-yard touchdown to Chargers receiver Simi Fehoko, a fourth-year player who’s now on his third team.
