First game nerves at the NFL level don't lead to 37-pt blowouts...incompetent game-planning along with execution do. I do feel bad for Thielen. It has to be hard to wind up on what looks like a historical lyrics bad team at the end of an otherwise pretty great and productive career. SemperFeist
Thielen chased the money. He got what he wanted. I don’t feel bad in the slightest.

vike daddy
Patriots wide receiver K.J. Osborn has been named the NFL Players Association’s Community MVP for Week Two of the 2024 season. Osborn is being honored after providing 50 students with new shoes, backpacks and school supplies during an event at a Boys & Girls Club in Roxbury, Massachusetts. The event also featured pizza and dessert for all of the kids who were part of one of the first events held by the foundation that Osborn started this year. Osborn: “I was once a Boys & Girls Club kid, so it’s always special when given an opportunity to connect with them." The NFLPA will donate $10,000 to Osborn’s foundation or the charity of his choice. He will also be eligible for the Alan Page Award at the end of the year along with all of the other weekly honorees. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/k-j-osborn-named-nflpa-community-mvp-for-week-2
swede700
I would guess that @vike daddy would know of McCullum pretty well. Edited Friday at 05:03 PM by swede700

SteelKing728
Barring injury, we don't need him, but I'd love having Thielen back!
SemperFeist
Thielen will forever be one of my favorite Vikings, but I don’t think he’d have a place on the roster. At best, I think he’d be WR4, and at that spot he’d need to offer something on special teams.
skywindO2
Klint Kubiak has really grown since his time in Minnesota. Who gets a head coaching job faster, Kubs or Ben Johnson?

I think if he really wanted to be a head coach, he would have taken one of the ones that he's potentially been offered the last 2 years. He's taking the risk that if the Lions have a bad year, his market will dry up, as they'll move on to some other hot candidate.
swede700
Obviously I haven't watched Kubiak's offense with the Saints this year...but when you have a healthy and motivated Kamara, it's no wonder that they've been doing well. It's somewhat impressive that they beat down Dallas, but at the same time, it's almost not either, because I think the Dallas dysfunction is catching up to them. After passing on the Washington job last year, I really wonder if it’s something that he even wants. It’s going to be tough to find a better situation. Washington would have been the perfect opportunity, because you have a new owner and a new GM, a new QB of your choosing, and no real high expectations to speak of. The only real detriment is that dungeon they play in. Edited Monday at 04:26 PM by swede700
