turtle28
Well two of the Wizards rookies played well last night (Sarr & Carrington) and George didn’t look lost. George actually played pretty well too, he just missed some shots he usually hits. They were all good to great on D and rebounding. George was all over the place on D. https://x.com/benstandig/status/1811969636512202905?s=46&t=6HL-uBrK4qbGh3V530lFEg Only one summer league game for Bub Carrington and yadda yadda yadda, wow, that was a blast. Almost a triple-double (19-9-8). Drained 3s. Most notable, played with confidence. The clear leader. Very engaged with the game. He turns 19 in nine days. https://x.com/gregfinberg/status/1811969714072986095?s=46&t=6HL-uBrK4qbGh3V530lFEg Bub Carrington in his Summer League debut: 19 PTS 9 REB 8 AST 5-10 FG (4-8 from 3pt) +18 Bucket🔥 https://x.com/gregfinberg/status/1811969860152283336?s=46&t=6HL-uBrK4qbGh3V530lFEg Alex Sarr in his summer league debut: 12 PTS 7 REB 4 AST 2-5 3pt 4 BLK +15 https://x.com/gregfinberg/status/1811956889644581105?s=46&t=6HL-uBrK4qbGh3V530lFEg Side-step threes at 7-foot is crazy. https://x.com/gregfinberg/status/1811953714355122619?s=46&t=6HL-uBrK4qbGh3V530lFEg Gotta show some love to Justin Champagnie. Dude is balling tonight. 13 points in the first half and looks very comfortable out there Edited July 13 by turtle28
turtle28
Carrington: 19 pts (4/8 from 3), 8 assists, 9 rebs Champagnie: 18 pts, 4 assists, 5 rebs Davis: 12 pts, 1 assist 6 rebounds Omoruyi: 8 pts, 2 assists, 5 rebounds Sarr: 12 pts, 4 assists, 7 Rebs, 4 blocks & many more altered shots Bernard: 8 pts, 3 rebounds Butler, Jr.: 7 pts, 3 rebounds George: 7 pts, 5 assists, 3 rebs. He was everywhere defensively, guarding many positions. Even though he was only 1/5 from 3, we all know he can shoot it and those shots will fall in the future. His game honestly is a lot like Deni’s.
MKnight82
Washington signed free agent F Saadiq Bey to a 3 year $20 mil contract. He’s coming off of injury but at this price he could have trade value down the line. Good signing imo. Also gives them flexibility to trade Kuzma as Bey could easily take his minutes.

turtle28
I’m still disappointed the Wizards passed on Terrence Shannon https://x.com/thefieldof68/status/1811898617713893664?s=46&t=6HL-uBrK4qbGh3V530lFEg 25 PTS 3 REB 2 BLK 9-14 FG
MKnight82
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/40578919/wizards-top-rookie-alex-sarr-goes-scoreless-15-shots This was my biggest criticism of Sarr before the draft. He’s a big that wants to play like a wing. Just be a big.

Glenn Rice Jr looked like Michael Jordan a few years back and then was out of the league. Sarr will be fine. The offense will develop and catch up with the rest of his game.

I’m talking about his playing style not his stats. It really concerns me the way he seems to want to play like a wing.

I've always said he's more stretch 4 than a center especially given how skinny he is. He needs to add 10-20 pounds in the next few years or muscle and become more consistent as a jump shooter & 3-point shooter. I see him as a Dirk/Porzingiz type big but he's quicker/more athletic, not as a true center. He's a PF/stretch 4. I think with a lot of work he can refine those skills and shooter while becoming a great player by year 3. A 7’ guy with handles like a PG, that if he can develop into a 35% 3-point shooter, get stronger as a rebounder and drive to the hole in the future like Kuz added to his already great D/shot blocking ability wont be stopped in a few more years.
