Because he's never been reliable enough health wise. They do need to give him the job though because he's the best. They can give Thompson like 10 carries a game and still have him as the 3rd down back so he can have 5 catches a game too. Kirk missed Doctson for a TD. We haven't seen those other guys do anything this preseason yet. I don't see Gruden cutting Grant unless it's obvious the other guys are outplaying him and that just hasn't happened yet. They also have to prove they can be better gunners than Grant because Grant has been a good special teams player for us the last few years.
