naptownskinsfan Posted November 3, 2018 Share Posted November 3, 2018 Sure, it's easy to roll up the style points against some of the cupcake ACC teams they've played against this year. Have they even beaten someone who is ranked yet? Maybe TAMU but that's about it. They almost lost to Syracuse. Meanwhile, Bama is beating some better teams, and definitely has the marquee matchup tonight. If they beat LSU, they are for sure the best team in the eyes of the country, and IMO they still are a better team than Clemson even if they lose. Outside of A&M, they’ve played Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Missouri so far in the SEC. Those teams are just as bad as most ACC teams this year. Ole Miss is 5-4 and has a pretty prolific offense- second most points in the SEC, and the playoff committee will not rank them because they have a bowl ban in place. Mizzou is a pretty good defensive team and gave Georgia a good game earlier in the year. What's funny is how the lower ACC teams were all added by the committee, three of the four are in Clemson's division, including Syracuse, which is their worst victory. The whole story on Clemson would be if they would play any ranked teams this year, well, the committee certainly took care of that. It's Bama until someone can prove otherwise.
