Spring Training Injury Designations: Levels of Alarm

This got me thinking the other day about spring training elevations and what level of alarm that we as fans should have, especially when it comes to pitchers. It got me thinking:

On a scale of 0-10, it should look something like this (I need help here)

0: Day off, rest

10: Sudden and unexplained drop in velocity

Any ideas for 1-9?

Sudden drop in velocity is like a 4 during spring training. During the season it's a 10, but guys have a dead arm phase at some point. Not always a big deal.

10: "Elbow discomfort" in the tweet is basically RIP UCL

I'd say the word "unexplained" makes it a 10. Sudden drop is definitely potential for dead arm.

Is "soreness" or "tightness" worse? I'm trying to figure out which. I'd say soreness is worse than tightness for ELBOW, but soreness is better than tightness for rotator cuff.

Yeah you're right - elbow tightness is a 10. Soreness is an 8.

0: Day off, Rest

1: Contusion

2: Day to day with _______________ soft tissue injury

3: General Fatigue

4: Should be good to go by opening day

5: Sudden drop in velocity

6: Knee pain

7: Scheduled to visit a specialist (knee, ankle, wrist)

8: Elbow tightness; rotator soreness

9: Elbow discomfort or anything with "seeing a second opinion on potential exploratory surgery"

10: Elbow soreness, tightness in the rotator cuff

Sore is always better than tight.  Odds are that "tight" feeling is the muscle retracting after tearing.
