While he's a three-year starter with good size and loads of special teams experience, if teams don't trust his instincts and ability to recover with at least functional speed, they may not want to carry him on the roster as a backup. Weaknesses Ball skills and hands are below average Had very few pass breakups and interceptions relative to the pass-happy conference he played in Doesn't run well Once he's beat, he's beat Instincts in coverage need work Can be slow to recognize when teams are attacking with the deep ball Lacks range to overcome mental mistakes Route watcher who doesn't read enough cues from quarterback Tends to hang back when running back bolts into second level May lack confidence as open field tackler I looked that guy up in Ourlads and he isn't even listed. That being said Dak probably over estimated his speed. We have to remember these preseason games are about the players performing like it is mid regular season. An elite safety would have broke sooner and got there faster than a camp scrub. Also Dak almost certainly had better knowledge about that CB because balls had been thrown over there previously. Absent adequate info Dak threw the safe pass.

Calling a QB overpaid is not putting someone down just to feel good. I have seen plenty of quotes from @DaBoys laughing at the Eagles for paying Wentz too much. The Vikings overpaid in a big way for cousins. A overpaid player is an over paid player. We still are irritated Crawford got paid as much as he did. QFT. Btw, it makes no sense for me or @DaBoys to put Dak down because "it gives us great joy". That's ridiculous.
