2012 Draft Recap:
I tried to find the BDL thread for 2012 so I could look at the rosters and the fits of these players but couldn't find one for 2012 so I'll just be examining essentially how many players each team picked that stuck around and made something of themselves. This 2012 draft was pretty brutal in general so there was some pretty bad drafting all around.

London Monarchs

Quote

1.1 - Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
2.7 - Devon Still, INT, Penn State
3.5 - David Wilson, RB, Virginia Tech
7.2 - Antonio Allen, S, South Carolina
7.7 - Bruce Irvin, EDGE, West Virginia
7.8 - Jonathan Massaquoi, EDGE, Troy
7.13 - Sean Spence, LB, Miami

Well obviously the first overall pick worked out pretty well with luck but most of the rest of this draft was pretty rough. Devon Still was a great story but never really panned out in the NFL. Wilson was a good while he was healthy but had to retire early. Allen, Massaquoi, and Spence never amounted to anything either. Bruce Irvin on the other hand was a steal in round 7 and probably one of the better picks of the draft. Luck and Irvin were nice picks but that's about it for this group.

Athens Armstrongs

Quote

1.2 - Matt Kalil, OT, USC
3.2 - Vinny Curry, EDGE, Marshall
4.2 - Kendall Reyes, INT, UConn
4.14 - Jerell Worthy, INT, Michigan State
5.2 - LaMichael James, RB, Oregon
6.2 - Josh Norman, CB, Coastal Carolina
6.15 - Ladarius Green, TE, Louisiana-Lafayette

Kalil was a big whiff as the 2nd overall pick in the draft. He did play for a while but was never all that good and certainly not good enough to justify the second overall pick. Curry was a nice get in the 3rd round as he was a solid player for many years. Reyes, Worthy, and James never really did anything. Norman was a great pick in the 6th and Green was solid for a couple of years too until the injuries derailed him. This is maybe slightly better than London's draft but not by much.

Boston Berserkers

Quote

1.3 - Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State
1.15 - Whitney Mercilus, EDGE, Illinois
2.4 - Fletcher Cox, INT, Mississippi State
3.6 - Zach Brown, LB, North Carolina
3.10 - Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State
5.5 - Josh Chapman, INT, Alabama
6.4 - Dwight Jones, WR, North Carolina
6.6 - Vontaze Burfict, LB, Arizona State

This was a pretty good draft defensively for Boston but there were definitely some pretty bad picks sprinkled in. To start with, Blackmon never lived up to his potential due to issues with alcoholism. Talent wise he was worth the third pick but never made the impact he could have due to the off-the-field stuff. Weirdly, he's still apparently on the Jaguars roster on their reserve list. Mercilus, Cox, and Brown help make up for that pick though, particularly Cox. Cox has been a stud in this league, Mercilus has been a good pass rusher, and Brown has been a decent player. The next three picks - Adams, Chapman, and Jones - did nothing but Burfict was a good pick in the 6th despite being a total piece of ****.

Auckland Aces

Quote

1.4 - Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
4.1 - Zebrie Sanders, OT, Florida State
4.8 - Rueben Randle, WR, LSU
4.12 - Markelle Martin, S, Oklahoma State
5.3 - Derek Wolfe, INT, Cincinnati
6.3 - Nigel Bradham, LB, Florida State
6.8 - Chris Polk, RB, Washington
7.4 - Jeff Fuller, WR, Texas A&M
7.14 - David Molk, C, Michigan

This draft was pretty bad. Claiborne has stuck around in the league all these years but has never become the shutdown CB everyone hoped he would be. Randle was decent for a couple of years but never anything special. Wolfe was a nice pick in the 5th round and Bradham likewise in the 6th. Both have been good defensive pieces since they were drafted. Otherwise, it's a bunch of nothing. All but one of Auckland's picks were in the 4th round or later so you can justify many of the busts but when your one guy above the 4th round whiffs like Claiborne did it really sours the draft as a whole.

Sacramento Gladiators

Quote

1.5 - Luke Kuechley, LB, Boston College
3.12 - Mychal Kendricks, LB, California
4.5 - Jayron Hosley, CB, Virginia Tech

Only three picks in this class but quality over quantity is the name of the game here. Kuechley and Kendricks is a really nice LB duo and while both are now no longer in the league for very different reasons, they still played very well for a long time. Hosley was nothing but still, good class overall.

Cuba Smugglers

Quote

1.6 - Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor
4.4 - Bobby Massie, OT, Ole Miss
5.9 - Tank Carder, LB, TCU
5.12 - Marvin McNutt, WR, Iowa

This class is neither quality nor quantity. Everyone knows about RG3 so already Cuba is in a bad spot. Massie is still playing so there's some points for that but he's never been particularly good. Carder and McNutt did nothing. Rough draft for Cuba.

Chicago Ditkas

Quote

1.7 - Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
1.16 - Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford
2.15 - Lavonte David, LB, Nebraska
3.7 - Mohammed Sanu, WR, Rutgers
5.6 - Brandon Thompson, INT, Clemson
5.13 - Mike Martin, INT, Michigan
6.7 - Orson Charles, TE, Georgia
6.9 - Brian Quick, WR, Appalachian State

It's gotta hurt to have two first round draft picks and what you come out with is Richardson and Martin. Chicago partially made up for it by getting David and Sanu with their next two picks. After that it was more nothing. Charles actually apparently was still in the NFL as recently as parts of last season but has never really done much.

Brooklyn Crush

Quote

1.8 - Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
1.10 - Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama
2.6 - Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin
2.8 - Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor
2.10 - Dont'a Hightower, LB, Alabama
2.16 - Courtney Upshaw, EDGE, Alabama
3.8 - Alameda Ta'amu, INT, Washington
3.13 - Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M
3.16 - Alfonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska
5.4 - Nick Toon, WR, Wisconsin
5.10 - Billy Winn, INT, Boise State

This draft is a bit of a mixed bag. Floyd was only good for a couple of years and Kirkpatrick has only ever been ok. Not exactly what you want when you have two top ten picks. In the second round Konz was a bust, Wright was only ever decent, and then Hightower was a good pick. Upshaw was a bust. In the 3rd, only Tannehill ended up as anything and that took him a while. There were some decent picks in this draft but certainly not as good as you want it when you have nine picks in the first three rounds.

Arizona Predators

Quote

1.9 - David DeCastro, OG, Stanford
1.13 - Melvin Ingram, EDGE, South Carolina
2.9 - Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina
3.15 - Josh Robinson, CB, UCF
4.11 - Amini Silatolu, OG, Midwestern State University
5.11 - Jared Crick, INT, Nebraska
7.11 - Brock Osweiler, QB, Arizona State
The first three picks here are pretty solid. DeCastro and Ingram are obvious hits and Jeffery, while inconsistent at times, has been a good player for many years. The rest of the draft never panned out to much but in a bad first round class, hitting on two of the players is solid. Osweiler was also probably worthwhile as a 7th round as he had some ok years.

Bhopal Big Cats

Quote

1.11 - Quinton Coples, EDGE, North Carolina
4.6 - Casey Hayward, CB, Vanderbilt
5.1 - Chase Minnifield, CB, Virginia

Not many picks here but Coples was a bust and Minnifield was never anything in the league. Hayward was a steal in the 4th round though so that really saves this draft as a whole.

Berlin Blitzkrieg

Quote

1.12 - Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa
2.3 - Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech
3.3 - Lamar Miller, RB, Miami
4.3 - Dwayne Allen, TE, Clemson
4.7 - Andre Branch, EDGE, Clemson
6.12 - Brandon Washington, OG, Miami
6.14 - Jamell Flemming, CB, Oklahoma
7.1 - Greg Childs, WR, Arkansas

Reiff has a been a solid starter at OT since he was drafted, which is pretty decent for this draft class so that was a solid picks. Stephen Hill was a big ole bust. Miller and Allen were good picks. The rest though never ended up being anything worthwhile.

Gotham Gashslayers

Quote

1.14 - Dontari Poe, INT, Memphis
2.13 - Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina
3.9 - Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin
4.13 - Ronnell Lewis, LB, Oklahoma
6.13 - Tommy Streeter, WR, Miami
7.6 - Mitchell Schwartz, OT, California

This is probably the best draft class so far in my opinion. Lewis and Streeter were busts but other than that there were some really good picks. Poe was never the insane dominant beast many projected him to be but he's still been a very good NT for a number of years. Gilmore is one of the best if not the best at his position in the league. Zeitler and Schwartz have been top players at their positions for a while as well. Very good draft from old man Pheltz.

Wichita Coyotes

Quote

2.1 - Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama
2.11 - Michael Brockers, INT, LSU
3.1 - Harrison Smith, S, Notre Dame
3.4 - Kelechi Osemele, OG, Iowa State
5.15 - Juron Criner, WR, Arizona
6.11 - Chris Givens, WR, Wake Forest
7.5 - Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma State
7.9 - Isaiah Pead, RB, Cincinnati
7.10 - Ryan Lindley, QB, San Diego State

This draft class is right up there with Gotham's in my opinion. Despite the fact that all of the later round picks were best, they hit really well on their first four picks. Jenkins has been a little inconsistent but a very good CB. Brockers has been a solid DT. Smith has been one of the best safeties in the league and Osemele was a very good OL for a while as well. Good draft by PR.

Rhein Fire

Quote

2.2 - Cordy Glenn, OT, Georgia
2.5 - Mark Barron, S, Alabama
3.11 Brandon Boykin, CB, Georgia
4.9 - Shea McClellin, EDGE, Boise State
4.10 - Bobby Wagner, LB, Utah State
5.7 - Brandon Brooks, OG, Miami (OH)
6.1 - Brandon Taylor, S, LSU
6.10 - Robert Turbin, RB, Utah State
7.3 - A.J. Jenkins, WR, Illinois
7.12 - Ben Jones, C, Georgia
7.15 - Ron Brooks, CB, LSU

Pretty solid draft overall by Rhein. Glenn was a solid pick near the top of the 2nd. Barron never panned out but is still in the league at least. Boykin and McClellin were busts but Wagner near the end of the 4th is one of the best picks in the entire draft. Brandon Brooks in the 5th was nice too as he's really grown into a good OG these last few years. Turbin was decent for a bit too and at least had a role in the NFL. Nobody else amounted to anything.

Irish Crusaders

Quote

2.12 - Nick Perry, EDGE, USC
4.15 - Chandler Jones, EDGE, Syracuse
4.16 - Trumaine Johnson, CB, Montana
5.8 - Marvin Jones, WR, California
5.14 - Cam Johnson, EDGE, Virginia
5.16 - Ryan Broyles, WR, Oklahoma
6.16 - Demario Davis, LB, Arkansas State
7.16 - Marcus Forston, DT, Miami

The Irish did pretty well here seeing as how their first pick was near the end of the 2nd and they didn't pick again until the end of 4th. Perry and Jones is a nice EDGE combo. Johnson was a good CB and Marvin Jones a good WR for a while. The rest of the picks other than Davis were nothing. Davis was a nice pick at the end of the 6th. I'd put this draft right up there with the other top drafts and it's made more impressive because of the picks he did all of this with.

Las Vegas Gamblers

Quote

2.14 - Coby Fleener, TE, Stanford
3.14 - Doug Martin, RB, Boise State
6.5 - Phillip Blake, C, Baylor

Not many picks to even write about here. Fleener was a good player for a portion of his career and Martin has had his moments as well. Blake did nothing in the pros. Pretty good draft considering the lack of picks.
