EagleBlueDon
The guy is just ultra productive. And it's not like it was one or two fluke years. He's consistently been an excellent corner. So happy we have him, still can't believe we have him. So happy.

Jeezla
Keep in mind, a large part of Slay's success was not having Jim Schwartz as a DC. I'm not expecting him to make the pro bowl, but he should be better than anything we've had since Asante.

Or because jim sucks?

Jim sucks for sure, but maybe it was because he was rookie. More likely both combined, but no matter what Jim sucks. EagleBlueDon
Let's keep nitpicking and find any possible way to shed a negative light on the trade. Who's got next?

I just think Schwartz's coverage scheme is that dumb. It doesn't put our DB's in the best position to succeed. I like Slay a lot, I just wish he was still 29 when we get our next DC, but instead he'll be 31 and we'll need another #1 CB. I'm happy that McLeod is no longer our best secondary player though. Seeing that his game isn't predicated on uber speed and athleticism.

Obviously he has instincts too, but speed is a big part of his game.

I'd say he's more of a technician, instincts, knowledge, craftiness, and loose hipped guy than straight line speed. Regardless, his last year will be at age 32. I don't foresee him significantly slowing down to the point of being a liability lol

Yes, he likes being plus 1 in the box. Leaving his corners on islands. But, he's never had corners who can be alone on islands. Now he has one. This is objectively a good thing.
