SLCbear
oh, and love the Spriggs signing unless Ruiz slides all the way to us, its hard to see drafting OL in R2 ..

It should cost us one of our 2s but OJ Howard at 43 or 50 is a HUGE win for this offense ! swap out Burton for Howard, hells ya !!

abstract_thought
Hoping Pace does not consider this guy viable depth at OT. IIRC he was awful in Green Bay.

I’m fine with it. If your swing tackle isn’t a developing player IMO it needs to be a guy who’s at least seen significant live game action, even if not at a high level. Spriggs has 36 appearances with 9 starts and has played both tackle and guard. For comparison, going into 2019 Cornelius Lucas’ resume included 37 appearances with 8 starts. That’s now the floor for our top backup OT, a position prior to his signing occupied by an empty chair, probably at a cost where he’s entirely expendable a week from now if we draft an OT high or if Coward/Bars/whoever outperforms him in camp. He basically is Cornelius Lucas, who wasn’t good last year but also wasn’t bad either especially for a backup at a position where the league doesn’t have enough good starters to begin with. There’s definitely room for improvement, but we could definitely do worse too.
Sugashane
He is athletic but lacks much power from the little I have read on him. If so then he seems to - on paper at least - fit the zone blocking scheme Castillo may run.
