Bedard has 164 points in 98 career WHL games. That includes him at 15 years old. The WHL isn't the offensive league that the QMJHL is.

Dumais at 17: 109 pts in 68 games in the QMJHL
Bedard at 17: 46 pts in 21 games in the WHL (149 pts in 68 game pace)

I know it's not a direct comparison but just showing that Bedard doing what he's doing in the WHL means more than what happens in the QMJHL. Lafreniere exploded in the QMJHL and hasn't been able to translate that to the NHL. He had 112 points in 52 games in the QMJHL. He's had 59 points in 153 NHL games.

I mean Jack Hughes was better in his first 153 than Laffy was. I know it's not 153 exactly but in 13 more games over his first 3 seasons, Hughes scored 108 points. He played for the USNTDP and played vs NCAA and USHL teams. Makes you wonder how effective the QMJHL actually is.

EDIT - Jack's actual totals after 153 games - 93 points. Still, that's 34 more points than Laffy.
