Eh this one can get it's own thread. The future of Young with the Ravens was something that seemed pretty likely to end after this season, now not so much. I'm a big fan of this happening.

Same. Really smart move by both parties, IMO. Young gets some guaranteed money and gets one last shot to prove himself next year. Ravens get some cap space back and a potentially great slot corner who has something to prove.

Agreed. Young was wise not to play hardball here. Wouldn’t want to be cut loose this offseason looking for a new deal. Money (cap) will potentially be tight around the league, and there may not be huge demand for a guys who’s missed two straight seasons.

Yeah, I’m sure he would’ve likely gotten paid what we just reduced his salary to, only chances would be high that he could be playing for a likely worse organization. Here he gets guaranteed cash and makes what he’d been making to this point anyway. Win/Win, well he loses because he realistically has the talent to be making what he was going to make, but injuries. Sucks, but hey, he’s getting paid millions to rehab as opposed to putting himself at increased risk for CTE while playing. Some might call his situation a blessing.

I would add, if he can show durability, gives him a chance to earn some of the money back in out years as well.

Absolutely. His exposure and defensive comfort will likely never be in as good a place as here where he’s proven legit ability and where our team will consistently find itself playing on TV to make scouting him an easy endeavor for those around the league.
