The skins have 15 sacks through 5 games as a defense. Ioannidis and Smith combine for 8 of those sacks. Allen has really had an impact on the pass rush. He's especially helped out Ioannidis a lot by occupying two blockers. Going to be interesting to see if Ioannidis and Smith maintain their production for the next month because they won't be playing next to Allen anymore in the nickel package. I'm worried about his play dropping off as he takes on double teams that Allen was taking on. Allen really has been a fantastic addition to this defense. He’s been a good NT for the Texans, they got him in the 5th round of last year’s draft. Preston Smith should be getting more buzz than he is also with his 4.5 sacks. Ioannidis only plays DE, not NT and he has only played in nickel packages in the 4 man DL to my knowledge. I don’t think he’s played a snap at NT for us. Reader is a true NT, Ioannidis is a better fit a 3 technique. Even though we didn’t draft Reader late in the draft it still doesn’t change that fact that we should have and if Wendy had we’d have a starring caliber NT for the next decade if we would re-sign him in the future.
