Bringing Linval back as a rotational/spell NT for Phillips would be a solid addition.

The team really doesn’t have any NT depth. Certainly not without shuffling around players you’re expecting to play elsewhere.

He certainly has familiarity with this new system after spending last year with Staley.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is retiring from football, having earned an estimated $82.1 million over 17 seasons, per @spotrac.

He's the highest-earning 7th round pick in NFL history. Fitzpatrick started for 9 different teams — the most of any player.

Sometime in October, Bill Belichick will likely move into second place on the all-time coaching wins list (regular- and post-season).

With four victories this year, Belichick will pass George Halas and be looking up at only one man in history, Don Shula. As of today, it’s Shula 347 with wins, Halas 324, Belichick 321. It took Shula 526 games to record his 347 wins, and it took Halas 506 to get his. Belichick, 70 and looking 55, has coached 477 games in his NFL head-coaching career.

Aaron Donald's contract, per a source with knowledge of the terms, has no new years. Instead, the existing deal was torn up, and it was replaced by a new contract.

He’ll get $95 million over the next three years. He’s getting, a literally, a $40 million raise.

The contract includes a pair of voidable years. The void kicks in on the final day of the 2024 league year. Which means that the Rams won’t be able to tag him for 2025. Instead, he’ll become a free agent if he wants to keep playing.

He gets $65 million over the next two years, with no offset on guarantees. It’s structured to let him retire after 2023 with no financial penalty. If decides to play in 2024, he’ll get another $30 million.

Donald definitely deserves it. But this should make it clear that the salary cap is a figment of the imagination. Because the Rams are still going to hand Cooper Kupp a new contract.

It may be a figment of the imagination, but it still always requires a lot of work every offseason to move around money to get underneath it.  It's almost as if Snead just wants to get paid to do that every offseason instead of actually evaluating and drafting players.  He's basically just a highly paid accountant.

I'd have to think it'll get done this week, as the Browns really have only 2 options to trade him to, Carolina or Seattle, and I think Carolina is a little more desperate than Seattle is.

It’s still relatively shocking how poorly the Browns have handled the Mayfield situation.
