And at most one playoff victory any given year.

They are going to have so much money tied up in him, Lamb, and Parsons. I think Dallas is going to find it very difficult to maintain a competitive roster over the next couple of years.

And I think it starts this year.  Despite yesterday's victory, I think they are going to have a tough time this year.

A report earlier on Monday characterized receiver Puka Nacua as week-to-week with his knee injury. But Nacua is going to be out for at least a month. Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters in his Monday news conference that Nacua has a PCL sprain and will be placed on injured reserve.

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, center Steve Avila is believed to have suffered an MCL sprain during last night’s season opener against the Lions. He is set to undergo an MRI and further tests on Monday to determine the full extent of his injury.

Avila did not play after the first half of the eventual overtime loss, as the Rams had to make several shifts along their offensive line. The Rams were already playing their backup right and left tackle due to injury and suspension, respectively.

A second-round pick in last year’s draft, Avila played every offensive snap for Los Angeles as a rookie.

we play the Rams in Wk8.

I’d love to have a candid conversation with Kevin Stefanski and learn how much he and Woods had to do with the Watson trade, or if they wanted to keep Baker Mayfield. Because it seemed at the time that the driving force behind trading for Watson was Haslem.

But where would the Browns be with Mayfield, the extra cap space, and 3 additional 1st round picks.

It’s cherry picking with hindsight, but imagine having;

Mayfield at QB
Kyle Hamilton (2022 1st round pick)
Jahmyr Gibbs (2023 1st round pick)
Brian Thomas Jr. (2024 1st round pick)

Watson is in further legal trouble, and potentially more severe than prior charges.

just do some Google research on your own if you're interested, lets not discuss it here as it's a taboo subject.

And unfortunately for them, they are locked into that deal with Watson. They didn't give themselves any out really whatsoever.  His dead cap number next year is a whopping $172M and $99M in 2026.

well, no, not really. that's what's being discussed in the new slew of news and potential consequences.

I suppose it's based on the wording in the contract, but we'll have to see whether that ends up applying because of the timing of the incident.

Watson’s contract was unique because when he was traded for by the Browns it was well known that he was in the middle of multiple lawsuits which were likely going to lead to a NFL suspension.  The Browns agreed to waive the standard guarantee void language for any condition that would be triggered by anything related to these cases and any other cases that Watson thought could be coming provided that Watson provided the Browns with the details.  The language, per source with a knowledge of specific details of the contracts, seemed to pertain only to league suspensions that came down in 2022 or 2023 which would make a 2024 suspension unique even if suspended due to a potential case the Browns were already made aware of. The contract, however, should not allow the Browns to act on their own to void the guarantees if they were aware that this specific accusation was a possibility and it would require a league suspension to allow them to void the contract.
