Tell me about Armour-Davis...solid press-man developmental prospect?

He underachieved on Bama, had a solid last season but still is not fully developed.  He can run well and is solid in coverage but Josh Jobe outplayed him last year and Josh Jobe was nothing great so.  Apparently Jobe was hurt a bit last year but either way both corners were not outstanding but sure have some upside and potential.  I am kind of surprised Armour-Davis is that tall, he does not look that tall when he plays, obviously has pretty short arms but he ran well at the combine for sure.

Thanks for the feedback. Any developmental prospects that have a skill set that might be a solid fit for press coverage responsibilities, like Charvarius Ward ended up being for us?

All these guys could play for the Chiefs I feel, some could be a nickel corner and others outside corner.  Almost all corners can play press now a days, sure some are better in zone but almost everyone has to play both at one time or another.  There are a lot of guys who in range the Chiefs could get late 1st round or get a DE there and get a CB later.

Roger McCreary Auburn
Kaiir Elam Florida JR
Cam Taylor-Britt Nebraska
Andrew Booth Jr Clemson JR
Tariq Woolen UTSA RS
Derion Kendrick Georgia
Coby Bryant Cincinnati RS
Jack Jones Arizona State RS
Kyler Gordon Washington
Zyon McCollum Sam Houston State
Marcus Jones Houston RS
Joshua Williams Fayetteville State
Vincent Gray Michigan
Tariq Castro-Fields Penn State
Martin Emerson Miss State JR
Jermaine Waller Virginia Tech JR
Damarri Mathis Pitt RS
Mario Goodrich Clemson
Josh Jobe Alabama
Jalyn Armour-Davis Alabama JR
Chris Steele USC JR
Isaac Taylor-Stuart USC JR
Tony Adams Illinois RS
Bryce Watts UMASS RS JR
Caesar Williams Wisconsin RS
Don Gardner South Dakota State RS

Do the Chiefs really need corners that bad?  I thought they had bigger needs a DE and OL possibly.  Sure helps franchising Orlando Brown Jr but need that other OT spot or at least a developmental guy.  I could see them stealing a guy like Joshua Williams mid rounds or Emerson, Castro-Fields and them turning out to be very good players, Jobe and Armour-Davis fit that mold also potentially or a guy like Tony Adams who can play safety also.

With Ward and Hughes hitting free agency, I do think we need to figure on addressing the cornerback position in the mid-rounds which seems to be where Veach traditionally looks for cornerbacks. I could also see Veach taking a look at some college safeties that have a skill set that could project to cornerback at the next level like Snead.

Daxton Hill is pretty intriguing because I could see him giving us some positional and assignment versatility, although he may not even be available with our 1st round pick and we might have some solid options at EDGE at the end of round 1.
