We're stuck right now if we don't make a trade because no one is signing as a FA and none of the young talent outside of Ja and JJJ (and he has some serious defensive and injury concerns) has the potential to be more than solid role players. Need a better perimeter running mate than Dillon Brooks and have extra picks and young talent to throw at someone in a trade.

I want to be patient...but I've been here before as a Grizzlies fan. Utah and Denver did show that patience can pay off, though. Only so much time before our young guys need to get paid or traded out of here. I'm so conflicted.

Agree w/ Champ that CJ’s not worth it. Save those assets for a better fit who is still young, and can develop into a player superior to CJ and/or better fit. Sure, CJ is probably one of the best players you could realistically get right now, but I’d opt to add someone who can grow along w/ Ja and JJJ. Granted I’m saying this without actually looking at the options… but a midseason trade, where 1 team decides to start selling, could be the time to strike for a younger guy.

Just do not like the logistics of a Ja/CJ pairing either.

I just don't know who that'd be. A consistent 21+ PPG scorer and knockdown shooter that's locked in for multiple seasons.

I'd love Beal, but he'd be out of here in a year. Zach LaVine would have the same issues as CJ and is also a FA in a year. Maybe Malik Beasley? Wouldn't cost as much, but he's not the same caliber player.
