I have had a number of concussions. I got punched  in the face a couple of times by an old demented boxer a dude in his 60s. It thas taken me probably a couple of years to get completely over it.

I had a bigger concussion in 2014 and I still have symptoms from that.

Neuroplasticity is real, especially for younger people. But the brain does have a limit for healing.

Also, with so many guys coming out with early CTE, someone with power has to start asking some questions of the efficacy of football.

Vincent Jackson died a sad and lonely death with neuro cognitive injury, he wasnt a guy you would expect to have CTe, i cant remember him getting a lot head injruies or as a Wr you wouldn't expect a lot of sub concussive hits.

They are making changes to limit this. And thier not doing a half bad job either IMO. Are they doing enough? That's up for debate. But they are changing the rules and putting money towards technology and medical research to upgrade equipment like helmets in order to make the game as safe as it can be for a violent sport.

The crux here is that while they change they rules to prevent concussions and blows to the head, fans like us crap on them for being "soft", and that includes myself.

Compounded, that’s huge. 10 years compounded? That’s…. Close to 40-50% of players with some form of CTE.

The scariest part is that when you figure in high school, 10 years of organized football means that there's a ~50% affliction rate by the time a guy gets to the end of his NFL rookie deal.

Aaron Hernandez was considered to have a severe case.

He played 3 years in the NFL and 3 years at Florida.
