Which is why it’s important in Gardner’s final game, Alabama didn’t even test him and prolific All American Jameson Williams finished with a 5/25 line.

Did Gardner even give up a completion in that game?

Furthermore, if he Jaycee Horn’s the combine, it’s a risk worth taking.

You’re not wrong, but Alabama also ran over them all game and pretty clearly didn’t want to put anything on film since they were in control and went into grind it out mode early

News to me.

I like Gardner too. But at the end of the day, I think the fact he played at Cincinnati hurts him and I think NFL teams are going to be more comfortable with players from big-time programs like Clemson and LSU, fair or not.

You're kind of right. But they finally made the top 4 and got to play against top competition. And MOST of what I've heard from pundits in regards to that showing are positive in regards to Sauce.

Ridder on the other hand, meh...

So in 6 years in the NFL Greg Robinson made 29 million, and he gets caught drug trafficking. Some people are just flat out stupid.

Not even the first guy that's happened to. Can't remember them all, but Clintin Portis' fraud thing was dumb too. Like, he didn't make enough to invest legally? F$^&

There was another one recently too, but I'm drawing a blank. But a guy who must have made a few bucks and got caught with a bunch of crap.

Michael Vick! Sadly, the list is fairly long.

A real NFL team took Greg Robinson over Jake Matthews, Khalil Mack, and Mike Evans.

Yeah, but wasn't it you who just mentioned what Sauce's school could do to his draft slotting?  ^^

And Mike Evans, dumb as it might look today, was kind of raw. He was just a jump ball specialist really coming out, with size and potential.

Oddly enough I spent parts of today scouting OL tape. I think I'm starting to trust my own evaluations more, and it's pointing out to me why there may be so many early misses at OT, maybe every position. Just too much athletic projection. When it works you look like a genius. When it doesn't, Greg Robinson, or Jamarcus Russell?

Yes. Did you actually read what I said?

No, he wasn't. He made Johnny Manziel look good.

I'm going to agree to disagree. He did make Manziel look good. But because Manziel was an all-time escape artist.

He used what I have at times referred to as the Ben method. Run around long enough that someone comes WIDE OPEN downfield. Then throw. When he didn't use that or his legs he just threw jump balls to Evans. And Evans was very good as a jump ball specialist, for the most part, because he won probably 85% of those jump balls.

There's a difference between being a jump ball specialist and having to catch a lot of jump balls. Dude got open plenty on his own. I still remember all the nonsense about how "Mike Evans needs to move to tight end because he isn't fast enough to play receiver" and then he ran in the 4.4s at the Combine.
