Just did this mock on https://thedraftnetwork.com/

  • 24. Chris Olave WR, Ohio State
  • 56. Travis Jones IDL, UConn
  • 88. Sam Williams EDGE, Ole Miss
  • 129. Chigoziem Okonkwo TE, Maryland
  • 155. Hassan Haskins RB, Michigan
  • 167. Dare Rosenthal OT, Kentucky
  • 176. Cade Mays IOL, Tennessee
  • 178. Damone Clark LB, LSU
  • 193. Isaac Taylor-Stuart CB, USC

I...actually don't hate this draft.

Our DL looks nice:
Williams - Osa - Jones - Dlaw

Our WR look nice:

Lamb - Gallup - Olave - Washington - Fehoko

We draft a stud at LBer to redshirt late.

The obvious concern is:

1. We didn't draft the Punt God.

2. We drafted OL late.

I’d be shocked if we don’t take an OL before this. And I really don’t think your #2 and #3 picks make it to you on draft day.

Jets fan here - over on a jets board we do a full NFL draft - guys pick a team to draft.  i picked the cowboys.  draft started this AM, so waiting on the 1st round pick.  from what i gathered team needs are edge, ol, wr, lb?  any other insight from the real fans?

LBer should only be Dean in the first. Otherwise you punt.

WR should be considered if a top flight falls.

Otherwise Edge or OL. Likey OL. If we can draft the heir to Smith, great. Otherwise either LG or C.

Just used https://www.pff.com/draft/nfl-mock-draft-simulator  and got this.

  1. 24. Treylon Burks, WR Arkansas
  2. 56. Chad Muma, LB Wyoming
  3. 88. Kellen Diesch, T Arizona State
  4. 129. Lexitus Smith, G Virginia Tech
  5. 155. Grant Calacaterra, TE SMU
  6. 167. Dominique Robinson, DE Miami Ohio
  7. 176. Sterling Weatherford, S Miami Ohio
  8. 178. Chigoziem Okonkwo, TE/FB Maryland
  9. 193. Hassan Haskins, RB Michigan

This I honestly prefer the other one. But it is interesting how differently they rank Okonkwo and Haskins.

That draft would not suck. Mays has developmental potential, but he’s a 2 year project, so no o-line early would hurt, but it’s a nice draft overall.

Wait….but I didn’t say that he would fall to us like I did with Lamb. If I remember correctly, you were the only person on this board who agreed with me that it could happen.

Following the draft for the past 20 years, you start to learn almost nothing it impossible. But it was going to take a miracle chain reaction on CeeDee Lamb, and that’s what we got when the Raiders took Ruggs.

Similarly, I’ll be stunned if such a good pass blocking LT falls to #24. But you never know, a team could choose Raimann and throw everything off.

I am not 100% there yet - but my gut is starting to tell me the talent is going to suggest WR in round 1.

Do you mean you think the guards will be gone, or that we would take a WR over one of the guards?

Just think we would find a servable OL in later rounds than a plug & play WR in later rounds.

WR Talent seems very top heavy for immediate impactful contributors.

I think OL is still the smarter play, though.

I just made this one on PFN's Mock Draft Simulator and really like it. It's unrealistic, but I like it:

1. (24) Zion Johnson OG, Boston College

2. (56) Devonte Wyatt DT, Georgia

3. (88) Nik Bonitto DE, Oklahoma

4. (129) Nick Cross S, Maryland

5. (155) Charlie Kolar TE, Iowa State

5. (167) Hassan Haskins RB, Michigan

5. (176) Matt Araiza P, San Diego State

5. (178) Dontario Drummond WR, Ole Miss

6. (193) Damone Clark LB, LSU (yes, he fell that far)

I don’t think I agree with that assessment of this class. Who are your plug-and-play guys at LG for #56?

I’ve been working my way through these two positions. I will be shocked if Green or Zion are not the best guards in the class. Maybe Tyler Smith, but I think I’d prefer him at RT, and he probably won’t be available at #56.

On the other hand, this WR class really stretches. Christian Watson, George Pickens, and Sky Moore could all be the best WR to come out this year. Would not shock me. If those guys are gone, Dotson, Shakir, Tolbert, Mechie are all ready to play on day 1.

I think Jameson Williams and Treylon Burks are really special/unique. Wouldn’t mind taking them. OG in round 1 is the play, otherwise, IMO.

If Devonte Wyatt is available on day 2
