Week 13- Jaguars @ Lions

Trying to start a new trend. Starting this one early.

Lions just went toe to toe with Superbowl contenders and almost pulled up the upset.

3-1 in the last four games.

A very manageable 6 games to end the season.

Jamo should be back very soon if not this game.

What do you want to see this game?

Total demolition. Like 45-7 win.

This is going to be a tough game.  Lawrence is coming into his own, even with the odd WR core they have put together and they just beat a very good Baltimore team.  I hope we can win this and keep building momentum.

One thing I really want to see is the coaching staff have a plan and make some of the right calls in game.  Better clock management and strategy in situations that require it.  We gave away 6 points to Buffalo due to poor clock management and it cost us the game.  We have been in every game but 2 this year and questionable coaching has blown most of those close games.  I love this staff and how they are developing players but want to see growth from them now more than anything as its hard to win in this league when you are making bad decisions at the top.

Didn't help that the Ravens dropped 3 TD passes against the Jags. Lions cannot leave points out there.

This is a game the Lions should win and need to win. At home, with extended rest, against another team on their level. How they play this game will tell us where they actually are development wise. It's easy to get up for big games against great teams when there are no expectations and you "have nothing to lose".

Early reports are that Jonah Jackson and Jeff Okudah should be back this game.

The Jaguars also have several guys on their roster that Lions fans (or maybe just this Lions fan) wanted during the draft process:

- Travon Walker (58.2 PFF) - *if Hutchinson wasn't available he was in the mix at #2

- Devin Lloyd (52.9 PFF)

- Chad Muma (51.3 PFF)

A couple free agents that we

- Aden Key (UFA) - (76.4 PFF)

- Riley Patterson (Ex Lion UFA) (59.7 PFF)

- Marvin Jones (Ex Lions UFA) (62.3 PFF)

Lloyd is interesting.  He had a very good start to the year but now seems to be moved to a backup and special teams role.  I haven't watched much of them but followed his stats in an IDP fantasy league and he was playing 90-100% of the defensive snaps but has dropped to 60 and 32% the last couple weeks and bumped in ST snaps which means it isnt injury related.

The Lions are getting good news with Jonah Jackson and Jeff Okudah.  Yay!

Thats big.  Having two backup OGs is not a good thing as we saw last week.  Okudah is a huge boost too but that O line was rough last week.

So we got these guys back this week:

LG Jonah Jackson

CB Jeff Okudah

DE Romeo Okwara

WR Jameson Williams

DL Josh Paschal

Add a very motivated Aidan Hutchinson and DJ Chark, for different reasons, and this game could be electric.
