2023 Packers Mock draft if season ending last weekend.

This upcoming season, the Packer have some choices to make with free agents and coaching staff.  The TE group has 2 free agents and 2 players that could be cut, not a very impressive group this year.  I confuse, I bought into the Davis hype.  My thinking is, resigning Tonyan Jr. to another 1-year deal and rebuild that group.  They have 3 free agents in the WR group, Lazard, Cobb and Watkins.  Lazard is the only no brainer for me out of this group to resign.  Watkins, no and Cobb maybe on a cheap 1-year deal. 2 key OL members must be resigned, Nijman and Jenkins.

On defense, they have 2 DE as good as gone, Lowry and Reed.  Lowry is ok and Reed has been a disappointment.  The rookie Wyatt will get his shot at replacing one and the second spot is open.  They have Amos and Leavitt as free agents at S, plus you have to decide if Savage is the new Ha Ha Clinton-Dix?  I would bet on Amos having just a down year this year with the defense underperforming.  Edge, I think depth is needed.

Coaching staff, we can all agree the defense has way underperformed and the offense is shaky as well.  LaFleur has stated that Berry's job is safe, he plans on making no changes.  However, he might be forced to change his position, with some pressure from above.  So, let me give you my big picture for 2023 draft and offseason.  Sorry, no cap space stuff.  I am not very good with that, as you all know.

Murphy and Gute tell LaFleur make some changes with the staff or be changed yourself.  So, he does.

In with Jim Leonhard as DC.  Rumor has it that he was LaFleur first choice to begin with, so he gets his man.  I wouldn't be upset with Fangio, Flores or Jim Schwartz.  They will also make some changes to defensive staff once Leonhard is hired.  I can see Gray getting upset with being passed over.  If Gray leaves, I would like to see Al Harris come back to Green Bay as DB coach/ Asst. DC.

Packers hire Darrell Bevell from the Dolphins as Asst. HC/ Offensive consultant.  Adam Stenavich is kept on, but Bevell makes most of the calls.  Thought about bring Hackett back if he gets fired in Denver, but choice something different.  Scott Tolzien is another name in play here as well.

2023 NFL Draft.  I used profootballnetwork.com simulator for the draft part and NFL Draft Buzz for scouting reports.  I like using simulators so that I have at least someone or something is picking against me.

#8.  Denver Broncos call, they see a top 5 pick dropping they want.  So, they offered me picks #25, #67, #77 and 1st and 2nd round picks in 2024.  I pull the trigger on this one.  Denver selects Myles Murphy Edge Clemson with this pick.

  • Seems to have a natural affinity for the position - so even as a first-year quarterback he looked composed
  • Physically, Hall is a natural athlete who plays with the balance and light feet to float in the pocket.
  • Hall is enough of a threat as a runner to earn respect from back-side defenders at the next level, opening opportunities for running backs.

  • Possesses a strong right arm and is capable of making every NFL throw easily. Can drive the deep out to the sideline from the opposite hash and has no problem threading the needle between closing defenders. Easily zips to all areas of the field, demonstrating very good touch on underneath routes to running backs and receivers, as well as down the sideline on deep passes.
  • Dual-threat quarterback with athletic footwork and mobility. An instinctive runner with very good toughness - uses stiff arms and runs with good body strength.
  • Is a composed player with the ability to quickly read the defense and works through his reads quickly
  • Accurate and has the touch to deliver the ball where only his receivers can catch it

  • Turner can flip his hips and run, with good top-end speed and the length to make plays on the ball.
  • Made Bruce Feldman's Freak's List - ranked #31. He wrote, "He is the fastest guy on the Wolverines, having hit 23.07 mph on the GPS and run a 4.28 40 — out of a two-point stance, no less. His 3-cone time is even more stunning. He clocked a 6.29 this offseason, and strength coaches think he has a good shot at besting the combine record of 6.28, set in 2018 by Oklahoma’s Jordan Thomas. "
  • Has the fluidity, speed and quick feet to come down and defend slot receivers in man coverage. Turner also does a nice job breaking down in space as a tackler after the catch.
  • Has the change-of-direction ability to mirror underneath but did solid work out of press and off coverage.
  • Does a good job getting his head around in time when playing with his back to the line of scrimmage. Has the ability to cover quickness underneath.
