I've heard that $1M is the number for Willis, but can't get any confirmation on that one.

kgarrett12486
Assuming we sign Baez, BA had our top ten prospect listed as: 1. Gorman 2. Liberatore 3. Walker 4. Herrera 5. Mcgreevy 6. Wynn 7. Hence 8. Baez 9. Thompson 10. Burleson Walker, Liberatore and Gorman were all tier 1 prospects.

Assuming that the rest of the Cardinals picks sign for slot value, the Cardinals will have $3,234,505 left to spend on Josh Baez and Alec Willis. ASSUMING that $1M number that I've seen floated around is the number to get Willis to sign, that leaves just a bit over $2.2M to sign Baez which would be slot value for the ~33rd overall pick. If they're able to save more money with their other picks, they could potentially push Baez close to $2.5M.
kgarrett12486
Congrats to Alex Reyes on his accomplishment. Became 1st Cardinal closer to convert his first 24 save opportunities (beating out Eckersley's previous record). That's quite a feat. I missed that part. Even more impressive. So glad we didn't sell low on him like so many others recently.

With a normal season/offseason its time to stretch him out for 2022 Especially with the hope that Hicks will be back next year

Schildt and Girsch have both said recently they still view him as a starter longterm and he will prepare for that role in offseason.
kgarrett12486
Heard interview today with Cardinals Scouting Director Randy Flores. He said Masyn Winn will continue to prepare as both P and SS in minors and will get shot as dual way player. With the success of Ohtani, they want to give this opportunity if he wants to continue with it.
