Xmad
I feel like Carson before his knee injury was a top 5 QB and ever since has been an average to very good QB. I'd say Eli has had the better overall career but Palmer was the better player.
Jetzger
Having even average/above average play from a QB is valuable because of the importance of the position, and Eli combines that with a solid 5 year stretch of top 10 caliber play and an incredible health streak. Carson Palmer's health woes are just too much to ignore; the drop off from a starting QB to a replacement is massive, and it has a huge effect on a team's record and title hopes. Malik
Carson Palmer was better at playing QB than Eli Manning.
Shockwave
Just now, Malik said: Carson Palmer was better at playing QB than Eli Manning. Slightly.. due to Carsons health issues there is a big enough disparity in games played that you can't really compare bulks but going off percentages.. Eli: TD- 4.6%, INT 3.1%, YPA- 7.0, Passer Rating 83.8 Carson- TD- 4.6%, INT-3.0%, YPA- 7.3, Passer Rating 87.9 But the fact that you have to add a provision to make the argument should tell you something...also you fail to take into account Eli's dependability vs. Carsons over their careers. Kip Smithers
From my time watching Carson and Eli, it’s Eli.
Crickett
I'd say about the same. As @OleXmad said, Carson was a top five QB before the knee injury. Eli on the other hand, had his moments throughout the career. In 2008, the Giants were well on their way to repeating with an emergent Eli Manning until Plaxico Buress shot them in the foot by shooting himself in the leg. After that Eli was off to the races for a couple of years with Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz and Mario "Make 'em throw it to" Manningham and then had a pretty good two year stretch with OBJ.
