Thats probably my biggest concern with him, even if he does pan out, how long can he sustain it? Mobile QBs historically decline much faster than pocket passers. Daniels rarely made it past his first read or didn't need to. 62% of his passes were to wide open targets. That's absurd and speaks to the wR talent at LSU. When he didn't have something open, his eyes dropped and he looked to run immediately. You don't see him looking down field much. He's good, not great passing on the run. Ball flutters when off structure trying to make throws. He's rail thin and reckless as a runner. He is elusive and that is a plus to his game if he can avoid contact, which he seems reluctant to do. Bottom line, I don't see a guy who is going to win from the pocket with processing and decision making. And I think injury risk is going to be sky high with him. I think he has potential to be a really good QB in the right system. But worry about his ability to stay healthy and eventually win from the pocket. And it assumes that another team like the giants or the the vikings or the broncos dont trade up to 4 for qb. Then we'd be stuck looking dumb with no one.
