Couple of notes on this class. We've been frustrated with the lack of progression from cpu generated players in the league so @Flatlyner absolutely stacked this class with the best players from like 4-5 different draft classes, with the intention of upgrading the talent around the league.  Now this may be a mistake considering we have yet to even make a play in game..... but it should be interesting.

Also @Flatlyner has offered to trade me the #1 overall pick for #9 overall as he's had the top pick 3 years in a row.  This is to keep it fair and to keep me from rage quitting the league.

Along with the trade is the rule that neither of us are allowed to draft Hammons or Aguilar, who we both deem to be too powerful.

Aguilar looks nuts.

2026 NBA DRAFT

This draft was a logistical mess. @Flatlyner and I decided before the draft started to trade picks.  After looking at the mock drafts we decided it was safer for him to keep #1 overall so he could get a PG, and I could take the Center I wanted at #3.  So we swapped #3 overall for #9 overall, leaving the #3 and #11 picks, and @Flatlyner #1 and #9.

Then the draft actually started...

With the #1 overall pick @Flatlyner took PG Donovan Marshall.  Remember we had agreed that SG Hammons and PG Aguilar were off limits and had to go to CPU teams.

Then things got weird.

At #3 overall I was supposed to be on the clock but wasn't. @Flatlyner was shown still having the pick, so we figured we just pick for each other and fix it after the draft. So he selected C Mathew Lyles for me.

Then things got weirder.

He wanted me to take C Gene Hayes for him at #9, but the game wouldn't let me make the pick and simmed PF George Antonio there instead.

Then the draft simply simmed out all of the remaining picks for the entire draft....

What a mess.

We talked about it and decided @Flatlyner should end up with PG Donovan Marshall and C Gene Hayes, and myself C Mathew Lyles and PF George Antonio.  After a series of trades (and having to give up multiple future first round picks to get the cpu to comply) we got it worked out.  I also signed SF Al Martin who was the only guy I wanted in the 2nd round.

Here's my board if you're curious:

😳 I would have just forced a trade through since the game screwed up. Good players for both of you tho, look forward to seeing who got Aguilar and what he does.

I think the clippers got Aguilar.

You cannot force trades in online league.  Would have been much easier if you could.

1 PG Marshall LVH-lac
2 PG Aguilar LAC-mia
3 C Lyles VBN-lvh
4 C Harrison 76ers
5 SG Hammons WIZ-mil
6 C Reid LAC-uth
7 C Drew LAL-phx
8 PG Armstrong GSW
9 PF Antonio LVH-vbn
10 C Hayes POR
11 PF Mack VBN-was
12 SF Marion LAC-nop
13 C Mullin ORL
14 PG Rice CHI

So this is the lottery result.   It started simming right after Lyles, so that is how the cpu did it.   Clips got 2 dogs in Aguilar and Reid, though they reached on the pick at 12 with an undraftable (IMO) Marion.  Wizards got the best player in the draft at 5

VA Beach Draft Picks - 2026
Round Pick Position Name OVR Potential
1 3 C Mathew Lyles 81 A
1 11 PF George Antonio 80 B+
2 35 SG Al Martin 76* A

Vegas Hustlers Picks - 2026
Round Pick Position Name OVR Potential
1 1 PG Donovan Marshall 80 A
1 9 C Gene Hayes 82 A
2 31 PF Ivan Radja 77 A-

*Al Martin is the weirdest prospect we've ever seen.  He was predraft scouted at 69 OVR. The cpu screwed us and simmed all the picks, so I signed him as a UDFA.  He then progressed in the offseason by 4 ovr to 73 and gained 4 defensive badges. Then he gained 3 ovr again randomly after progression.  We don't really know what is going on with him or what his deal is.
