He isn't. 

Rather there are many less tight ends than running backs. 

Tight ends project better than runningbacks he will likely be the same player in 4 years time as a tight end. 

Where as if he was a runningback he would be completely done

Congrats to all the teams that drafted TE's this past draft...Seeing Waller @1 makes me glad we traded him because we just can't have anything not McDaniels approved right now. lol

I get what you're saying, but you literally just explained why Engram is more valuable.

Engram was much of a vocal leader and better blocker than I expected after all the notes from NYG fans after he signed here.

With Doug P as the playcaller, I think Engram easily clears with this contract. There’s probably less touches to go around with Ridley in the fold but this offense has the possibility of being super dynamic and Engram plays a large role in that. Not many guys with his traits at TE.
