Jerry Jones refused to commit signing Dak Prescott to an extension because the team is taking a holistic approach to the offseason but offered this confusing ditty: "Dak has done nothing to change my mind about  any promise for the future. I think I've said that we will go as far as Dak takes us in the playoffs. Remember that.  We will go as far as Dak takes us. And that is how far we went. That doesn't change a thing. We'll go as far as Dak takes us."

Jerry Jones said the Cowboys are going all in 2024..."We will be going all in.  I would say that you will see us this coming year not build it for the future."

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said from Senior Bowl he understands fan disappointment, pessimism after latest playoff letdown. “There’s no way they’re going to explicitly trust you until you get it done. …Until we compete at that level and we get the job done, there’s going to be doubt. And rightfully so.”

Not counting Dak or CeeDee resigns, the Cowboys can clear up about $50m cap space (roughly) just in restructures.  That would give them about $30m to play with and enough to resign Micah.  If they extend Dak and/or CeeDee, it could be even more.  That being said, an all-in this year with the holes we have, likely means a 2-3yr window and then a massive overhaul/rebuild that could mean spending a couple+ years sitting at the bottom.

Crazy to look at this list and think there’s a fair possibility that no one returns.

"I know how to disrupt and understand disruption," he said. "I think that the nature of what we do with our roster decisions – the fact that we're here looking for help for this coming year at the Senior Bowl, the fact that we have free agency opportunities, the fact that we've got substantive decisions to make here on our roster as it pertains to the salary cap – that's enough disruption for me. If we get through all of those decisions, there will be a lot of disruption."

"I think you can look on all three phases and see that we've got room for improvement," he said. "The thing that I would emphasize more than anything is that Dak has room for improvement and not just the scheme around him, but Dak can improve. That's a big plus when you've been playing the game for seven years and, by assessment, have some room to get better in. I expect him to do it next year and the next year."

"We're right at a key spot with Dak," he said. "Dak has improved since Mike [McCarthy] has been here, and I think we can look forward to that improvement. There's more there to get in terms of Dak's improvement with Mike. The evidence points to that. With more to get there, more pluses on Dak, that impacts a lot of other things that we're doing right now with the decisions we're making so it all makes sense to have [McCarthy] back."

"No, not necessarily," Jones said on allowing McCarthy to enter the final year of his deal. "Certainly he is in the final year of his contract, so he is under contract so we didn't really have to do anything at all. The idea of renewing a contract doesn't necessarily happen at all right after the last game. It can happen at any time. That's kind of a wrong signal to send that there's not more future than just this year in the picture."

Don't the Cowboys go all in every year?  Like you I'll believe it when I see it.

"Going all in" simply translates to big FA signings, not taking an emotional approach to trimming fat on this team, making hard but necassary decisions ranging from GM, HC, Asst Coaches, players, scheme, etc.

It doesn't gauruntee a damn thing. And quite frankly, outside of the big FA splash signings, I haven't seen him do any of the other "all in" stuff.

Talk is cheap.

Look at the timing of this story.  Jerry keeping the Cowboys in the news cycle as we approach the Superbowl.  That's not a coincidence.

That's all it is, is him spinning a story to try and keep the team relevant.
