R-2 pick 56

Dane Brugler had DE Marshawn Kneeland ranked as the 32nd overall player in this year's draft class. Brugler: "Kneeland is still taking classes in the art of the pass rush, but he is charged up into contact and displays twitch throughout his frame, which allows him to defeat blockers in different ways. He projects as a starting base end whose best football is yet to come."

I had a feeling this pick was going to be someone I’m not familiar with, and I was right. Glad to see he was ranked pretty highly. I’d rather see them go for someone they really like at a position where depth is needed than reach for a starter at RB or C. They can still get a solid RB tonight.

Cowboys' run defense was embarrassed when last taking field in playoffs vs. Packers. DE Marshawn Kneeland makes them more physical. He can improve defense on early downs, leading to more pass-rush opportunities for Micah Parsons and co. DeMarcus Lawrence gained a protégé.

This team loves them a 2nd round EDGE eh

Off the charts athleticism + strong run defense profile is a plus. I like that they didn't force a need at RB or LB even though they could have. This feels like a McClay pick.

RD 2 | PK 56 - Cowboys: Marshawn Kneeland EDGE, Western Michigan

With the 56th overall pick, the @dallascowboys select the highest ranked edge defender by the NGS athleticism score (88) in this class.

Kneeland will help replenish a Cowboys pass rush that led the NFL with a 42.5% pressure rate in 2023 but lost Dorance Armstrong & Dante Fowler in free agency.

Overall, this fits the Zimmer vision to a tee. Kneeland adds more size to the front (6-3, 265+) and is going to immediately add value versus the run.

As a pass-rusher, Kneeland displays a strong long arm as the base to his repertoire but needs to improve his rush angles and overall repertoire, but he does have some nice manipulative footwork. His athletic testing gives me optimism he can add more versatility to his rushes. #Cowboys

The newest #Cowboy Marshawn Kneeland on the @TheDraftShow talks about why he deserves the same respect as Power 5 players.

“I put in the work, I put in the time.” He also says he takes pride in his run defense.

A player that seems VERY confident 🤟

Which of those two you taking off the field to play him? Or are we finally moving Micah back to LBer?
