Patterson isn't gonna work. Most games come down to FG situations. We need someone way more reliable. Daniels doesn't play DB, rush the passer, or play OT, all of which look like issues. Plus as you said kicker could be an issue. I have to imagine we find a decent kicker but we are not finding a top-half-of-the-league kicker right now. Our schedule is also brutal and historically we've sucked vs the Giants even when they're bad like they look to be this year. I don't see us being .500 in the division. I don't see us winning one game vs the AFC North which has 2 Super Bowl contenders & the other 2 teams are playoff contenders. We should beat the Panthers in the NFC South but, I don't think we are better than the Bucs, Falcons, or Saints. I know we’ll win some games we don't expect to win but we’ll also probably lose 1 or 2 we don't expect us to lose. I definitely think we’re better than last year but I don't think we are a playoff contender especially if we have a few key injuries which we will have bc every team has them but we don't have great depth. We don't have a winning season yet with the ‘W’ on the helmet buddy. 🤷♂️

He played 11 snaps and to my knowledge wasn't targeted so that's good news for him. On the flipside, Tua targeted St. Juste several times on his first drive with success & connected on a TD over St. Juste similar to the route that Forbes got beat on last week vs the Jets. turtle28
From what I saw, Hampton looked pretty solid at LB but I would have to see more snaps closely to know how he played in run defense particularly.
aceinthehouse
But turtle, we also have an opportunity to claim players not currently on the team right now. (We're #2 in the claim lottery) That's something none of us can foresee at the moment. I'm totally aware, we need a Kicker, O-line & Corner help at minimum. Possibly even WR. But I feel very good about our RB's, TE's, Safeties, LBers & D-Line. We also have to consider the QB's we will be facing as well. Obviously, we're not going to fill every needed position this season. However, good-to-great QB play can mask many deficiency's on a team. Just like piss poor QB play, can make a well rounded roster look worse than it should be. If we can keep Jayden healthy? And have a kicker that's better than 50% ugh... This team can be in a lot of games.

That’s pretty damn encouraging.”

He and Jamin both looked good as backup pass rushers last night. Edited August 18 by turtle28

I agree we’ll be in almost every game we play, but that's different than winning a lot of close games & being a playoff contender. Being #2 on selecting which players we can claim doesn't mean all that much to me. Sure, we’ll get some improved depth there but good players don't get cut or waived. It's unlikely that we find a starter through that process at our weakest spots of CB & OT who is better than we already have in-house.
aceinthehouse
Btw, do we know if Drake Maye is playing against us this Saturday? I haven't had a chance to see him & hope he does. I don't think he's starting this year, but who knows? Also, mods? You can unpin this thread whenever you feel like it. Thanks!

They’ve been having Brissett start games, I don’t know if he will be playing this week. They may not have either Brissett or Maye play because it’s the 3rd preseason game. We’ll probably find out today or tomorrow what the Pats plan to do at QB.
