Davis has even talked this offseason about having to win quicker and more consistently against single blocks when Carter is drawing the attention, but it just hasn't materialized. If he was a real plus defender in the run game, then I could live with him not making much of an impact on pass rush downs, but right now he's just playing like a mediocre NT. And, this is coming from one of his bigger advocates on this forum when we drafted him.
