He tore an ACL - same as Carson Wentz. Nobody is thinking Wentz is in danger of missing the 2018 season.

So both would probably start next year on PUP with Watson being activated after week 6 and Wentz going over to IR-boomerang then coming back with about a month left? Varies from 7-12, based on severity. From all reports, the collateral damage to Watson's knee is minimal (no meniscus tear, no cartilage tear, etc). We've seen Wes Welker tear his ACL and MCL against the Texans on week 17 (2009 season, I think) and he was back by week 1. Adrian Peterson tore his week 14 in 2011; Was active in 2012 and rushed for 2,000 yards in his return. Heck, Watson torn the ACL in his left knee while in college in 2014 - he missed a bowl game, rehabbed and played the entire 2015 season. It's a serious injury, but medical science is improving to the point to where guys are recovering at faster rates, and the recovery is thorough. We've also seen Rivers strap a brace on for a torn acl and play in the AFC Championship, have surgery, rehab and be back in time for season start. Then again it's the Texans and their luck with QB's sucks so maybe they do consider grabbing Alex if he is cut.

Chiefs will probably try to trade Smith first
