If you haven't noticed, a key to not only developing a QB, but also winning games is to take advantage of your Top 10 QB being on his rookie deal. Prime Example: The Eagles and Carson Wentz The Eagles took advantage of the little they have to pay Wentz during this window by signing everyone they could. Now look at this offseason: The Bears & Mitch Trubinsky: 1. Allen Robinson 2. Taylor Gabriel 3. Trey Burton The Chiefs & Pat Mahomes: 1. Sammy Watkins The same formula is being replicated We could have signed these players to big deals and traded up for our guy, but alas that did not happen. They upgraded the OLine, have Ajayi and Clement at RB, Ertz at TE and Jeffrey, Algholor and others at WR. Goff as a good OLine, Gurley at RB, and a talented group of young WRs as well. Jeffrey was a prove it deal at first and two 5th round RB's. So the Jets are basically a 2nd round TE and a 1 year deal with Pryor away from the Eagles offense.
