What if you traded Le'Veon Bell?

The only way I’m not having Bell on the Steelers in 2018 is if I trade him. So, I thought I’d create a best-case scenario, because I tag and sign long-term or I trade him.

If I’m trading him, I want the top pick in the draft. Maybe Cleveland gets a Bradford and sign some defensive players where they are a borderline competitive team. Or so they think…

The first thing I’m going to do is trade down. And I call up John Elway and I leverage my deal with him and say I got a deal with Arizona and they want Josh Allen. Because I probably do, because they need a quarterback. Say they’re giving me three 1st’s and two 2nd’s spread out over the next few years. Lay out the land for him with Giants want Rosen. Cleveland takes Darnold and you end up with Baker. You don’t want that world – that’s not good for you. Especially, when I know you want a big QB. I’m willing to take less from you, because I want to remain in the top 5. Swindled.

DEN trades 2018 1st, 2018 2nd, 2019 1st, 2020 2nd  for PIT 1st, 1st overall

1)    DENVER – Josh Allen QB WYOMING

2)    NEW YORK – Josh Rosen QB UCLA

3)    INDIANAPOLIS – Saquon Barkley RB PENN STATE

4)    CLEVELAND – Sam Darnold QB USC

And here we go with a perfect setup. Now, I call my buddy Steve Keim and say you know Action isn’t going to make it past Miami and Cincinnati. So, why don’t you come up for the last good QB in the draft?

AZ trades 2018 1st, 2018 3rd, 2019 1st, 2020 2nd for PIT 1st, 5th overall

BIG TIME talent here for the Steelers. Freakish hard-hitting safety. 6’3” 220 pound missile. Nasty. He’s just an athletic freak.

16) BALTIMORE – Courtland Sutton WR SMU

17) LOS ANGELES CHARGERS – Orlando Brown OT OKLAHOMA

18) PITTSBURGH (via SEA) – Marcus Davenport OLB UTSA

Davenport can play DE in a 4-3 or can stand up in a 3-4 OLB. 6’7” 250 with long arms. Looks to me he can be a dominant pass rushing force.

PIT trades 2018 1st, 28th overall and 2018 3rd (via AZ), and 2018 5th to SEA for 2018 1st

19) DALLAS – Da’Ron Payne DT ALABAMA

20) DETROIT – Arden Key DE LSU

21) BUFFALO – Mason Rudolph QB OKLAHOMA STATE

22) PITTSBURGH – Josh Jackson CB IOWA

Pick up a ball hawk in the secondary with Josh Jackson. Tall, rangy CB that is Marcus Peters like.

PIT trades 2018 2nd, 2018 3rd , 2019 2nd  to BUF for 1st rd pick

23) LOS ANGELES RAMS – Denzel Ward CB OHIO STATE

40) PITTSBURGH (via DEN) – Andre Smith LB UNC

4th round – Bo Scarbrough RB ALABAMA

Big bruising RB in the mold of a Brandon Jacobs

6th round – Kurt Benkert QB VIRGINIA

Thinking like a Carson Palmer here. Good athlete and nice arm

7th round – Michael Dickson P TEXAS

Ray Guy award winner.

UFA – Jerrick McKinnon RB, Jimmy Graham TE, Taylor Gabriel WR

Yeah no. Steelers are at most going to trade up a few spots if they see a guy they want within reach. See Troy Polamalu and Santonio Holmes. Most likely though, they take the best player of need at 1.28. My guess is either Roquan Smith or Rashaan Evans.

So boring, I know. Yet, if you've ever watched the Steelers draft before, it is what it is.
