  1. It comes down to the fact it's easier to teach a guy how to hit a routine screen pass or 4 yard hitch than teach him how to hit a 60 yard frozen rope on the run while being hit. Guys like Goff, Purdy, Carr, Tua, etc are always going to be limited on how good they can be; guys like Richardson and Allen are essentially unlimited. Especially in the AFC, you need an alien at QB to compete. There's no point in taking the "safe pick" so you can perennially go 9-8 with the 12th ranked offense, you need to have the guy who make make throws only a few others can even think of.
  2. Yup. Fat guys who are "interior pass rushers" but don't have athleticism/juice, AND they can't stop the run are like, the worst kind of D-Lineman. Jones only ever looked passable with a solid Nose like Linval Joseph next to him. Not sure what anybody saw in JJ.
  3. Regardless, sad all around. Hopefully he manages to get the best care he can, and hopefully he is able to make amends for his other actions.
  4. Well, stealing money from the poorest people in America will change people's thoughts about you.
  5. It wasn't directed towards you; Richardson is a case where patience is definitely a virtue. I'm just saying that usually people using Manning's rookie year is often lazy and lacking context, in the same vein as people using Josh Allen's Year 3 leap as a coping mechanism when their young QB clearly doesn't have it. Richardson just needs reps, and he'll continue to get them as long as he doesn't get hurt again. The most important thing is the positives so far, and AR's positives are HUGE ones.
  6. Arch is going to have the most meticulously managed career of all-time. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he's receiving draft coaching right now and they're scoping out if the teams picking #1 are just temporarily slumping or if they're total trainwrecks.
  7. That's the funny thing, elite prospects always look like elite athletes when they're going against future desk workers. Philip Rivers played DB in high school lmao
  8. I think if he could bulk up and play a bit more disciplined as a CB, he could go two-ways. If he plays two ways in the NFL, it won't be full-time. It would be more like full-time CB with about 40% snap share on offense. I don't know if they could really go the other way; maybe full-time WR and CB on obvious passing situations like 3rd & long?
  9. I hate, hate, HATE when people say "MaNnInG wAs BaD aS a RoOkIe". First off, he went to a team picking first; very devoid of talent besides a pre-prime Marshall Faulk. Second, 1998 is a universe away from the passing landscape of the modern NFL. For Manning to nearly go for 4000 yards and 26 TDs as a rookie was stunning; his INTs? Oh well, Drew Bledsoe literally made the Pro Bowl throwing more INTs than TDs in that same era. If you can't succeed as a QB in the modern NFL where essentially every rule favors the offense, you're not going to get it together. I like Richardson, and with apt coaching he could improve, but the amount of people who compared Peyton Manning's rookie season to Zach Wilson, Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, Daniel Jones, etc. is ridiculous. People have entirely forgotten how context works. Don't get me started on the "Look at Jared Goff/Derek Carr/Ryan Tannehill's first 6 seasons compared to Tom Brady! They're on their way to the HOF!" mouthbreathers.
  10. He's talented enough to do both but I think he's too skinny to play DB in the NFL.
  11. Agreed. Love that dude, he's a dawg. Just inconsistent at times.
  12. The problem with All-Pros is it falls to biased sportswriter who often don't even know what they're talking about. Trent Williams is the same guy he was in Washington, and he only made a single All-Pro team. 2nd team at that!
  13. Didn't the Texans and Falcons finalize a trade and Watson said no? Or am I misremembering? Regardless, many teams threw their ethics to the side in an effort to land Watson, Cleveland just happened to win the sh*t sweepstakes (as if they haven't suffered enough)
  14. Goff started half the seasons of Stafford, and had 4 of his 7 (at the time) eligible seasons with McVay. Stafford threw a ton in DET (hurting his rate) stats and also had terrible coaching and support for most of his career. This stat is definitely not the be-all-end-all, context is still key.
