  1. Our QBs in that time period peaked at Joe Flacco. Let's give the modern front office some credit by drafting multiple pro bowl QBs and high end starters. In the modern era (Going back to 2013 and our post super bowl run) the franchise has drafted two pro bowl QBs, and successfully moved on from an aging flacco who had become unreliable and had injury issues. The guy we replaced Flacco with now wants to get paid, we do have a pro bowl backup QB on the roster so maybe we can look to future NFL hall of famer Tyler Huntley to produce half as good as Lamar maybe? What's that.... he's.....not good? Baltimore does not have a replacement plan for Jackson, our best bet is the draft but again we're either trading up for a QB or hoping one falls to us or waiting a year and rolling with Huntley in hopes the 2024 class has a much better option if we don't see a guy we like. This isn't 2018 where we are fully ready to move on from our former franchise QB because we already have the guy lined up, we're entering QB purgatory without a clear cut solution. Props to the front office for doing it last time, this time they didn't prepare and now we're dealing with the repercussions. More than likely there's something else besides guaranteed money that's holding them up, ravens more than likely made him the highest paid player in the NFL with an offer without as much guarantees as Watson or Kyler. As for what that actually is, unknown outside of Lamar's and Decosta's camp.
  2. QB money has spiraled and fully guaranteed money is now the floor for top 5 QBs in their prime. It will definitely be addressed in the next CBA but since that's 2032? We're stuck with the current predicament of Lamar being a media talking point because he's the next domino for getting a major QB contract for a QB in his prime. We get to watch this happen with Burrow and it's gonna be Hilarious when the bengals trade him to *insert NFC team* for pennies on the Palmer.
  3. Man y’all just really don’t wanna see running backs get paid huh.
  4. They have until july we got a long ways to go and multiple dominoes to fall. Yeah I don't believe anything from any media reports until we see an actual signed offer from either side. Deshaun Watson has two torn ACLs, a massive laundry list of sexual assault allegations, hadn't played a snap in two years and still got paid lol. Lamar's play hasn't been Shaky....? Ya'll clearly haven't watched him play.
  5. Mahomes signed his deal in 2020 but like still man. It's ****ing wild to think scrub QBs get paid more than most of their peers make their entire god damn careers.
  6. All it takes is one very dumb team, The Commanders are very very dumb.
  7. Also since today is the day I've been waiting for and really ****ing lamar signs with this team so I can not be depressed. The Birmingham Steamers have officially relocated to Baltimore and will now be called the " Baltimore Corviknights"
  8. It truly baffles my mind Daniel Jones is worth about 5 million less/year than Mahomes. But lamar can't get 50 million/year with like 4 years of guaranteed money.
  9. Yeah trade isn't coming they're just gonna offer Lamar a contract and hope the ravens don't match. Non exclusive forces teams to sign lamar or get bent.
  10. Good for geno, glad he could come back from that punch.
  11. What's the deadline on RFAs again?
  12. How tf is this dude worth more than Derek CARR LMAO. I hope he's at least like heavily incentivized and they can get out of it after two years or something.
  13. Correct and the ravens prepared for both scenarios, if they get a deal done business as usual, if not plan B and we look to the draft and focus on cutting costs to add talent where it's needed.
  14. Why do the ravens need to put a deadline on themselves? Either he plays this season on the tag or they get a deal done there's no in between.
  15. More context as in he literally paid to settle the sexual harassments lawsuits admitting guilt on those as well as several NDAs regarding them. Fantastic person for bringing a team to Carolina, terrible person for making a terrible work environment and probably ruining at least a few people's lives but by giving them money he is absolved of all sin because money means less than nothing to him. Another old rich Ghoul dies, truly a sad occasion.
  16. This doesn't happen to me but I'd have to guess it's a bug that may need fixing. #Ididnothing
  17. Only if we include coaches. I wanna see the ravens drag tomlin into the locker room and teach him what it means to be a steeler.
  18. He's capped out by Andrews, solid TE like dude's definitely another version of waller (gets blocked by talented TEs here, goes elsewhere and thrives)
  19. ****ed if you, ****ed if you don't. Meh non exclusive franchise tag for the lower value and hoping you can bait a dumb team into signing him plus he gets to see what he's worth on the market with the *option* to match depending on the contract. Personally I'd leave it up to Daboll and whether he wants Jones as his starter or if he thinks it's worth drafting their guy in the late first round, later rounds. QBs do fall through the cracks and coaching is definitely a good way to fix that. But honestly no matter what there's no good option here either way. Franchise Tag and hope to god this man goes Eli/Flacco on ya.
  20. $60,000,000/year minimum. Cap Space nerds would cry. Fully guaranteed QB deals are gonna happen, QBs have way too much leverage for it to not. Might be shorter term deals (3-5 years) but they'll happen.
  21. Can we convince webby to do an april fools joke where the forums name is Footballz future and we all pretend it's been like that.
