NO QB had a better first seven seasons.

Just forget all that? So what do we go with?

 

He;s the best QB I've ever seen with his experience.

So he's the best QB the NFL has seen, then? As you said, he's won more games than anyone, holds records, SB rings, and "no QB ever looked better" over their first 8 seasons.

Clearly he's a HOF QB in your eyes, where do you rank him among HOFers?

After just seven seasons, no QB ever did it better. So all those in the HOF didn't start out better than Wilson.

When his career is over is the only way to compare him vs the HOFers. What we do know is none did better with his experience.

If a pro footballer could only play seven seasons for some reason, we can't find any QB who compares to Wilson for starts/wins/stats (and his running) so I if nobody did it better, then.....yep, he'd be "Da Man".

I think Rodgers first 7 are better, even if you include the 3 he didn't start.  The next 4 are then 2008, 09, 10, 11.  He won the superbowl, had a top 5 all time season in 2011, and 100+ passer rating in 3 out of 4.

In any case, I don't think it matters, except for what he's on pace for if he keeps it up for a while longer.  Some people peak sooner, some later.  Some stay consistent for a while, some fall off the Earth.

Well, I mean, if we start adding some stipulations, we can take this a hundred different places.

Yes, Wilson took over from the start.  He also had a prime Marshawn Lynch and one of the best defenses of this era.  Not many QBs can say they've had the same to start their careers.  

Also, Wilson has yet to have a monster season we occasionally see from other elite QBs.

But yes, I think he's on a Hof pace and have said so.  But I don't think he's the greatest we've ever seen through 7 seasons.  He's a very efficient QB, but he's been able to lean on elite defense when it's not going his way.

Russell Wilson isn't even close to being the best QB with "this kind of experience".

By Manning's 7th season, he was a 2-time 1st team All-Pro, 2-time MVP, led the league in passing touchdowns twice, and had what many considered to be the best season by a QB since '84 Marino.  Manning was the best QB in the NFL.  Wilson hasn't even come close to that consideration.

By Favre's 7th season, he was a 3-time 1st team All-Pro, 3-time NFL MVP in 3 straight years, and led the league in TDs 3 straight years.  Favre was considered either the best QB in the NFL or 2nd to Steve Young.  It was one of the best 3 year runs by any QB.  Wilson hasn't even come close to that.

By Marino's 7th season, he was a 3-time 1st team All-Pro, MVP, led the league in passing yards and touchdowns 3 straight years, and had one of the most dominant seasons of all-time in 1984.  He was considered by some to be the best QB in the game and already talked about as one of the best passers of all-time.  Wilson hasn't even come close to that.

By Brady's 8th season (7th season starting), he led the league in passing touchdowns twice, won the MVP, won 3 Super Bowls with 4 Super Bowl appearances, and had one of the greatest seasons of all-time on one of the greatest teams of all-time.  Wilson doesn't even come close to that.

So yeah, again, Wilson certainly is not on the GOAT type pace or the best ever through 7 seasons. He's played on great teams and has experienced a lot of playoff success because of it, but as an individual he hasn't really accomplished THAT much.

Yeah, he is pretty much Big Ben of the post-2010 generation of QBs. This isn't a bad thing either since Ben will go to the HOF. But to say he has had the most impressive first seven years is a big stretch.

I knew nothing about this 20 posts situation or I would have been here sooner.

First off there are articles out there talking about Wilson having the best five and six best seasons ever by any pro QB.  Yep, Google it, this is not something I came up with.

Starting at the beginning

No QB in history has won more games in seven seasons than RW,

Comparing what Marino, Favre, Brady, Manning did vs Wilson as rookies, not even close, it's all RW,

None of those four had three times more TD's than INT''s but RW.

None had a superior comp%.

None had a superior passer rating.

What RW did rushing over those 4 not even close.

Only RW had a 4000/30/500 season, and he came 18 yards from having two.

NFL record holder for TD passes in the 4th Q for a season.

Only Aaron Rodgers has a higher passer rating for a career, RW at 100.

Wilson 8-2 in playoffs, first six seasons.

NFL leader with a 110.1 and 34 td.s

Five pro Bowls,

Two SB's.

While Peyton was throwing a ton of INT''s, Bret, Brady, Rodgers, were sitting on the bench there was RW wining games, that from day one. Marino totally inferior comp%/passer rating.

 

Wilson is in vs far superior athletes than what all those pre 2000 QB's saw, , noway in hell Marino with that lack of mobility is doing anything today,

I will if asked do a RW  vs...Otto, Slingin' Sammie, Johnny U, Joe Montana, Marino, Elway, Aaron, Peyton, whoever man vs man proving my point.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has two games this season with four plus touchdowns and one or fewer interceptions and if he has four more such games, he'll do something no other quarterback has ever done.

On Sunday, Wilson put up a four touchdown and one interception day against the Houston Texans. That game gave him seven such efforts through six seasons; something no other active quarterback can claim. In fact, most retired quarterbacks can't claim to have done it either.
