Black Ops 4

Maybe you guys haven't run into a whole lot of it yet after the update, but I still see quite a bit of quickscoping montages in uploads from yesterday.

But yeah, with a higher TTK on reg guns, you obviously have to make it harder to quickscope to have a balanced game. Of course, I'd prefer if they just removed it outright, but sadly, I think it's safe to say that it's just not gonna happen at this point.

I've lost my touch at this game.  During Black Ops 1, I had a 2.4 K/D or something along those lines.  Now, I'm so bad.  I haven't played Call of Duty all that seriously since Black Ops 1 and it shows.  I'm currently level 35 and I'll hit 40 tonight pretty easily.  I'm honestly not sure if I'm going to buy the game or not.  I kind of don't want to buy this and Battlefield 5 one week after one another, so I think I'm going to choose between one of them.

I just played in a match against a guy who was using a automatic sniper rifle.  He would miss a shot and just spam more.  I have no clue what gun that is, but it has to go.  I haven't ran into many people using Snipers in general, but this guy was annoying as hell all match.

Also, the score streaks in this game suck.

Alright well, I've played the living hell out of this beta.  I don't play TDM, so just keep that in mind.  Here are my thoughts.

*  The maps in this game aren't great.  I guess they're not bad, but they're not really good, either.  Just kinda meh.  CoD games have had pretty big problems lately with 'meh' maps.  Black Ops 1 had so many great maps.  Maybe these maps are meh to me for Domination, Control and Hardpoint.  Maybe if you play TDM, the maps are really good.

*  I don't like a single SMG in this game and that's really disturbing to me.

*  The score streaks in this game are underwhelming, IMO.

*  I like the specialist and the abilities.  I also enjoy all the different types of equipment (stim pack, body armor, getting specialist abilities faster, getting score streaks faster, etc.).  The specialist probably need to be balanced a bit better because some are clearly better and higher priority than others.

The one thing that I just can't get over is that this game has paid DLC.  I think I said this earlier, but I'm really on the fence about getting this game and the paid DLC is kind of pushing me towards not buying it.

Okay so, here's what happened.

The beta was scheduled to end today at 10:00am pst.  My game starts at 9:55am pst and I am literally just 5k XP from hitting level 40.  As I'm in the game, I hit 40.  After the game is over, I'm sitting in the MP screen and it shows I'm level 40.  The thing is, I never got the notification that said I got the unlock token.  I took a screenshot of me being level 40 and it just so happens that during that last game I got the play of the game and it shows me being level 40 in the clip as well.

I'm still not 100% sure if I'm going to buy this game or not, but I really want that token just incase I do.  I'm assuming I will get it, but I'm not sure.

Hey, if all else fails, IW is getting a lot of their prominent devs back and their next game is rumored to be MW4, so it does leave a glimmer of hope for IW's game next year with that in mind.

I've held off on pre-ordering the game for the time being, and so far, the beta impressions haven't changed my mind.

Infinity Ward is absolute garbage.  I don't have really any hope for MW4.

The best 2 games in this franchise were done by IW, CoD4 and MW2.  I do think they fell off after letting the 2 main devs for those games.  Maybe they're 2 of the ones they're bringing back for MW2 (fingers crossed).

I doubt Zampella and West come back considering they run Respawn Games (Titanfall and upcoming Star Wars game). But MW4 with team members back from Cod4 and MW2 would be pretty cool

I disagree 100%.  MW2 was really fun for a while, but the game was beyond broken to the point it became unplayable.  Especially once people started to learn about the One Man Army and infinite noobtubes.  The one thing about MW2 I really liked is the killstreaks were excellent.

I would take Black Ops 1 over all the IW games combined.  Treyarch is easily the best CoD dev and it's not even close.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is going to bring back five fan favorite maps from previous games in the Black Ops series, developer Treyarch announced today during a livestream.

The Black Ops series of Call of Duty games debuted in 2010, and has always been known for its strong multiplayer map design. With three games’ worth of history and nearly 50 maps, Treyarch has decided to bring back five of the series most popular maps, including:

  • Jungle - Black Ops
  • Slums - Black Ops 2
  • Summit - Black Ops
  • Firing Range - Black Ops
  • Nuketown - which has been included in all of the Black Ops games so far

While not much information was given on the maps, the developers did mention that they wanted to preserve the excitement that made those maps popular in the first place.

Amazing!!!  Firing Range and Jungle are two of the greatest maps in the history of the franchise.  It's so cool these are back and playable for everyone.  This is so great.
