My dream would would have us land Brown and somehow leave the draft with Dillard. We would instantly be title contenders on offense. Sign a CB, draft a CB in round 2. Bring back our safties and then we have the rest of the draft to just take some depth guys at Linebacker, DT, maybe a Guard or two.

After the combine, going to have to go up to get Dillard... which i am not opposed to.

Dude blew it up. His accent might cause a guy with better film to drop to us though.

Maybe it’s just the last couple years but it seems like good CBs and Tackles don’t ever hit FAs. Our coaching staffs inability to develop talent is so apparent.

Haven't heard him speak yet, is he British?;)

I don't necessarily disagree, but we did allow a top CB (Bouye) a top LT (Brown) and a top G (Brooks) to walk away.

It's a team effort to make this many blunders.

To be fair, Brown was traded away ;)

Bouye was a clusterfudge as was Brooks

I defended Rick many a time... but those two losses were egregious and those guys wanted O-U-T (as did D Brown)

Trent Brown to Oakland, per Schefter. 4/$66mm, $36 GTD.

Damn. I would have liked to see Houston get that, even at that asking price.

I don't know -- that's a lot of money for a player who hasn't even put together a full season of being great. I'd rather them spend money on solidifying the secondary than overpaying for a offensive lineman in this FA class.

Texans retain Angelo Blackson, Ka'imi Fairbairn, Joel Heath and Brennan Scarlett, per 610.

Landon Collins - 6/$84mm with $45mm GTD..That just blew the roof off of the S market, our opening offer of $9.5mm to Mathieu isn't going to work anymore.

I was encouraged by Gaines draft last year but his FA class sucked. Really badly. I hope it doesn’t become a pattern but with our franchise QB getting killed every snap, we’ve sat out two years now on the best tackle available. We do have a 1st rounder this year but how many mid 20s tackles can be dominate right away?

Nope not at that price. Doesn't that make him the highest paid LT in the league? He's decent, definite upgrade, but not for that. Even with the cap we have spending it absurdly will hurt in the future. I wouldn't have done this deal and I said before we should really go for him. Didn't think that would require this type contract though.
