After the departures of Maurice Harkless and Al-Farouq Aminu, Collins is the option that makes the most sense at power forward for the Blazers. Playing small could've been a possible strategy for coach Terry Stotts, but it looks like he plans to go big with Collins next to Hassan Whiteside. In addition, he is also likely to open the season as the team's backup center with Jusuf Nurkic (leg) on the mend. There may be an initial adjustment period since he hasn't started since his senior year of high school. (Not sure how wise it is to be counting on a guy who's not played the position since HS.....but who knows). I thought he had played some PF with them last year? The article is just referring to the fact that he came off the bench at Gonzaga and has also always come off the bench with the Blazers. Once Nurkic gets healthy they'll probably flip Collins + Whiteside for Love.

This also isn't a huge number for McCollum and he can easily be traded if they decide to go that route. Insane that they'll be paying Lillard/McCollum a combined $77M in 2021/2022. Utah will be close to that at that point once Mitchell and Gobert need new contracts. Anyone with 2 good players beyond first contracts is going to be spending $70+ million on them.

I'm interested to see what we do going forward, we basically put all of our chips on the table for these next two seasons.
NYRaider
I read that Shaun Livingston is interested in returning to the Clippers. It would be cool to see him go back there and get another ring. They should sign Livingston and then flip Harkless/Robinson for Iguodala.

Why haven't they made this move already? Obviously losing the draft capital sucks but adding Beal would put them in tier 1 and give them a legitimate shot at a championship. Plus they'd only be losing one rotation player and would be replacing him with a significantly better player.
