The Dodgers are definitely better built for a regular season (hence the wins). Hell, you could even say they're better for a 7 game series. But for a 5 game series? The power of your starting rotation goes up. You can cheese the opponent with them out of the bullpen. The weakness of your actual bullpen does not get exposed as much. Nats have Strasburg/Scherzer/Corbin. That definitely gave them a boost. But then also baseball is gonna baseball. You could put the 30th ranked team vs the best team and play enough series and the 30th placed team will win.
