Rome Eternals

Motivation

Just this week, Anchorage GM admitted his team should be 0-4 and furthermore said he was willing to sell off the team if they lost last week (which they did).  They then traded away their best wr for a qb which can't sit well with captain kirk. If they start Rudolph he'll have no idea what the playbook is. This can not be good for team morale.  We are rallying behind Teddy Two Gloves to make our playoff push for what may be Captain Drew’s last year in football

Offense

West coast, great against zone, underneath routes as they will stack against the run

Toting the Rock

Anchorage has a really good run defending line so we are gonna concentrate on getting to the outside with pitches and stretch plays getting to the second level.  Our tackles are both very athletic and getting them out in space on lb should lead two some chunk gains

When out of shotgun, we are gonna use delays and draws to run past pass rushing edges.  We also plan on utilizing a handful or RB screens as an extension of our running game

We have three excellent running backs to keep hammering at this group.  Gurley, Mack, and Lindsey will each get 30% of the snaps with Thompson getting the long distance ten percent

Passing

We feel Anchorage is gonna gear up to stop the run so we're gonna open up these offense this week with new QB Teddy Bridgewater who knows how to sustain drives and limit mistakes

We feel our wide receiving talent has a large gap with their corner talent.  We are going to run a bit more west coast offense with teddy and let him pick apart the defense dink and dunk style.  While we will take a few deep shots we are gonna be pretty boring against a team that has leanest on zone coverage. The west coast also has allows for the slant routes and comeback options that work well against man.  Edelman will be in motion pre snap to help teddy determine the coverage

In longer distances we'll go four wide with Edelman, and Goodwin hitting the field. Thompson receives some screen passes as well as a couple wheel routes if Hawaii forgers about him.  If we start seeing zone expect floods and lining up three wr on one side with screen passes to Juju or swing screens to Thompson/Lindsey We'll hit seams and simple drag routes to the TE too as Howard has shown up this season finally healthy

In the four wide we look to attack in the slots with Edelman and Juju.  Goodwin goes outside on that formation and we'll take a couple deep shots to him if we get man. Edelman is gonna get a boatload of targets in man from the slot in passing situations against  whoever is there to keep the chains moving If all else fails teddy knows to throw it away and fight another day. We think this helps us win against a more limited offense across from us

Up front we will be sliding the line left and leaving ramcyk on an island.  One of the RB or TE will help chip if anyone starts getting beat or if teddy reads zone blitz he has the ability to keep in an extra blocker

Tempo

Normal tempo, however when Hubbard subs in we are going to hurry up to trap him on the field as he's a huge downgrade from the starters

TL/DR:  .

West coast route concepts. Dink and dunk offense with a few deep shots.  Outside running

Defense

This week we welcome in an offense that is having a makeover mere hours before the game. The key to disrupting Cousins and /or rookie qb is to make them rush, throwing the ball before they are ready to. Also with the dual TE look, we feel we have a special trick up our sleeves

We honestly have no idea what we're gonna see from the new personnel here but I imagine a run heavy offense based around Kittle .  The base 4-6 allows us to combat this. In three wide we'll go back to our base nickel with Jackson and Wilson coming on for Milano and Brockers.  Nickell is the dime back this week. We'll rotate our d line pretty heavily to keep everyone fresh.

This front forces offenses to immediately account for the defenders lined up directly in front of them, making it considerably harder to execute blocking assignments such as pulling, trapping and pass protection in general. Moreover, the weak side defensive end would be aligned one to two yards outside the left offensive tackle, leaving the opposing tackle man-on-man when trying to block the pass rush.

Another key feature of the 46 is that both outside linebackers tend to play on the strong side of the formation.. The linebackers line up behind the linemen somewhere between one and three yards from the line of scrimmage. The primary tactic is to rush between five and eight players on each play, either to get to the quarterback quickly or disrupt running plays, although dropping some players back into pass coverage after seemingly indicating that they will blitz

This defense allows for one other awesome point.  Our edge Blitzer on the Kittle side is gonna knock that mofo backward to start every play before handing him off the LVE who only responsibly this game is Kittle.  He has zero run responsibilities in the 4-6 formation unless they run outside to his side. Hicks will get Knox/Fant. Generally Anchorage disregards their RB in the passing game and has them block against blitzing, which we are sending five in base.  This gives Milano the ability to drop into robber underneath or delay blitz himself

In order to run the 4-6 effectively, you have to have corners who can play press (we do) and matchups you can win (we do)

In the backend we aren't gonna really do many assignments.  We trust our guys to shut down this group of WR by doing what they do best. Humphrey and Amukamra get the outside, Jackson and Nickell get the slot.  We're gonna play majority man coverage with a single high safety this week with a robber underneath safety in three /four wide. Underneath robber first read is Kittle as LVE is gonna play outside leverage when he splits out wide trying to funnel him into the robber zone.  Anchorage loves their combo routes which work well against zone but doesn't effect man much

Per usual any nfl qb will pick one defense apart so we will drop into zone blitz and cover two man occasionally

Tl/dr. Stop the Run, Maintain Kittle, Trust the corners against the WR, fluster Cousins/Rudolph /Dalton /Ghost of QB past

Anchorage Wolves

From 2-0 to dropping our last 2 in close matchups. We believe we can still turn this thing around, but we need Kirk Cousins to wake up.

Offensive Formations:

Our base offense again this week will be the 2TE set. Special K with Kittle and Knox at TE and Kupp and Boyd at WR will include multiple shifts and motions to utilize this base formation as our standard for our uptempo attack. We will again feature the three wide formation (Preston Williams outside, Kupp in the slot) as well as a three tight formation this week with Noah Fant.

Offensive Plan of Attack:

We are going to balance our offense with our pass and run game. Run combo routes out of all formations attacking various levels of the defense. Pick our best matchups and target those frequently. We are going to run our power man and zone run game mix. We will look to get some healthy off tackle and stretch runs against Rome’s front as well as some slams and dives. We will feature our tight ends heavily and target the safety(ies) and utilize the tight end size to outmatch any corners they attempt to play on them. The shifty route running of our receivers will create separation as we utilize a lot of play action once again.

Defensive Formations:

Our base D is a 4-4 under again this week with Landon Collins dropping down into the box against the two tight set on the same side as Jarrad Davis. Against three widel formations Vernon Hargreaves will be the nickel and against four wide, Budda Baker drops down to the dime position with Jordan Whitehead as the Free Safety.

Defensive Plan of Attack:

Our plan is to funnel Todd Gurley inside to the strength of our defense. Trey Flowers and Cam Jordan have outside contain to funnel everything in to Vita Vea and Javon Hargrave. We will steady rotate Sam Hubbard in at end and Ed Oliver at DT. Joe Schobert is our MLB filling a B gap with the UT filling the other B gap. Vea will be two gapping the A’s. Jamie Collins and Jarrad Davis have C gaps. We will run a mix of zones with occasional man. We will blitz occasionally as well. In nickel, Hargreaves replaces Davis, and Collins fills into the box.

Go Wolves!

Just now, Counselor said:

Kupp wasn’t approved till after the deadline of games being due so Jlash couldn’t use him. He was still on Anchorage

No no no

You don't trade a guy then have him play for your team. Plain and simple.  You see this Irl at trade deadlines.  Players literally get pulled from baseball games when trades are announced deadline day
