I feel like its easier to find power than a true 5 tool player like Martin. Jordan isn't worth your second pick. You can grab a much better player there. Torkelson is the right pick for the Tigers. Its possible they have a deal in place with someone, but no one else knows, so the rest of the industry just keeps hearing no buzz with the Angels to anyone and is assuming that must mean they're punting. This is actually what I would bet on, if I had money to play with. I think they take a guy ranked waaaaaay lower and save a bunch on his signing bonus. hrubes20
I'll throw out a "what the hell" mock, since I really don't want to work this morning. 1. Tigers - Spencer Torkelson, 1B 2. O's - Nick Gonzales, 2B - I agree with Devils about this underslot. 3. Marlins - Austin Martin, OF 4. Royals - Asa Lacy, LHP 5. Blue Jays - Max Meyer, RHP 6. M's - Emerson Hancock, RHP 7. Pirates - Heston Kjerstad, OF 8. Padres - Zac Veen, OF 9. Rockies - Reid Detmers, LHP 10. Angels - Clayton Beeter, RHP - No idea if there is any connection, but like I said above, I think the org is thinking cheap. Beeter could potentially help in the pen this year as well, adding some non-zero value to the team during another one of Trout's prime years. 11. White Sox - Patrick Bailey, C 12. Reds - Austin Hendrick, OF 13. Giants - Tyler Soderstrom, C/OF 14. Rangers - Robert Hassell, OF 15. Phillies - Nick Bitsko - RHP 16. Cubs - Garrett Mitchell, OF 17. Red Sox - Mick Abel, RHP 18. Dbacks - Pete Crow-Armstrong, OF 19. Mets - Jared Kelley, RHP 20. Brewers - Garrett Crochet, LHP 21. Cards - Cade Cavalli, RHP 22. Nationals - Cole Wilcox, RHP 23. Indians - Ed Howard, SS 24. Rays - Dillon Dingler, C/OF 25. Braves - Justin Foscue, 2B 26. A's - Austin Wells, C/OF/DH 27. Twins - Chris McMahon, RHP 28. Yankees - Carson Tucker, SS 29. Dodgers - Tanner Witt, RHP/3B
holt_bruce81
Look at you, @hrubes20 mocking one of my least favorite College arms to the Cardinals. You would.

You take the CF/SS that can be above average defensively at both spots and has one of the best hit tools in the draft.

Even in your draft someone like Alex Toral in the third round. Martin seems better in every facet except power. Tork needs to be Miggy to be worth the top pick and just not sure he will be. Kiley had the Cubs taking him at 16 in his last mock. That would be immensely disappointing.

Will stay at short, so his value is artificially blown up because if the team that drafts them can get anything out of the bat, then you have a decently valuable piece, but realistically, he isnt going to do crap in professional baseball. Now of course Eric Longenhagen has Loftin going to the Braves.
