He's in the discussion, but don't forget that they've also had DPOY Stephon Gilmore, Darrelle Revis, and Richard Seymour as well. You could pull almost a half-dozen linebackers into the conversation too. Been a lot of high-impact defensive players rolling through New England over the past twenty years.

I think Gilmore is an obvious one, but I’m accounting for his durability because he may have a 13 year career in Foxborough and I can’t think of anyone else Belichick has trusted for that long except Tom Brady. Anybody who’s got more accolades for New England defense hasn’t been a high level contributor for as long as it feels like with McCourty.

Seymour is one that hasnt been mentioned.

Oh, and now I see Blue did mention him.

Career didn’t end in Foxborough, but he’s was there for about 8-9 years. High level player.

Junior Seau also imo

He played one season with them I think? Anyway, the Pats were the final team on his already HOF lock resume.

Man, has McCourty really been there for 13 years? That can't be right.

That’s what sparked my curiosity here. He's in his 10th season with the team. Perhaps Wilfork still has more time with Bill then any other defender.
