Latavius Murray had production near Kamara's while Kamara was out, while Saquan's understudies we far from Saquan's production numbers. Gallman- 40 touches, 212 scrimmage yards, 3 touchdowns, 5.3 yards per touch. See my above post for Barkley's numbers. Just like the Latavius Murray/Kamara situation Gallman's production was similar to Barkley's in limited time last year. Both RB's were visibly not their normal self last year due to injury. I'm not doubting Barkley is very talented, he is, but so is Kamara. Problem being Kamara is getting dinged by many for being injured last year, but Barkley isn't. The metric is influenced significantly more by the breakdown of touches then actual efficiency. 32% of Kamara's touches are receptions. 19% of Barkely's are receptions. That said Kamara did have a slightly higher ypc than Barkley last year. Any singular stat on its own is relatively useless as they often times don't paint much of a picture on their own. This has nothing to do with the discounting the passing game, this is about a stat that skews to players that have less carries. It's a dumb stat. It would be similar if you added QBs rushing and passing yards and had a stat for total yards divided by attempt. It would skew towards the pocket passers.
