RandyMossIsBoss
Do YOU think the following 5 active players and 5 eligible players belong in the HOF (or will when their career is over, for the younger active guys)? Obligatory: this isn't the NFL HOF, not reserved for elite players. Doesn't mean just anybody gets in either. Active Marc Gasol NBA champion DPOY 2x All-NBA, 3x All-Star, All-Defense Holds several Grizzlies franchise records Helped lead Spain to Gold in 2019, key role player on 2006 gold winning team Andre Iguodala Finals MVP, 3x NBA champ (Cedric Maxwell and Billups only eligible Finals MVP not in HOF) 1x All-Star, 2x All-Defense 13k points, 5.6k rebounds, 4.9k assists Minor contributor for Gold winning 2012 Olympic and 2010 FIBA teams LaMarcus Aldridge 5x All-NBA, 7x All-Star Nearly 20k points, 8.4k rebounds 34 but still playing at high level Kyle Lowry NBA champion All-NBA, 6x All-Star Raptors all time leader in assists and steals Won gold at 2016 Olympics as role player Kevin Love NBA champion 2x All-NBA, 5x All-Star, Most Improved 13k points, 8k rebounds, only 31 Won gold in 2012 Olympics as major contributor and 2010 FIBA as role player Eligible Shawn Marion NBA Champion 2x All-NBA, 4x All-Star 17.7k points, 10k rebounds, ~3k steals+blocks Ben Wallace NBA Champion 4x DPOY 5x All-NBA, 4x All-Star, 6x All-Defense 2x Rebounding leader 2019 HOF Finalist Chris Webber 5x All-NBA, 5x All-Star, Rookie of the Year College basketball POTY, 2 straight F4 appearances as part of "Fab Five" Averaged 20.7 ponts and 9.8 rebounds over career 2019 HOF Finalist Chauncey Billups NBA Finals MVP 3x All-NBA, 5x All-Star, 2x All-Defense 15.8k points, 5.6k assists 2nd leading scorer on gold winning FIBA 2010 squad Amar'e Stoudemire 5x All-NBA, 6x All-Star, Rookie of the Year career average of 18.9 PPG on 53.7% shooting Messed around and won some stuff in Israel... Template you can copy/paste, just bold your vote. Remember, not about what you think will happen, but who you think deserves it (and in case of younger guys like Love, whether you think they will or will not deserve it when they're done). RandyMossIsBoss
Marc Gasol Y | N Andre Iguodala Y | N LaMarcus Aldridge Y | N Kyle Lowry Y | N (I think his all-stars have been inflated by the lack of competition at guard in the East, he's not a "6x all-star" level player if you know what I mean) Kevin Love Y | N Shawn Marion Y | N Ben Wallace Y | N Chris Webber Y | N Chauncey Billups Y | N Amar'e Stoudemire Y | N (toughest one to pick for me, that very high peak, and the highlight reel fashion he did it at, gets him in eventually)

Not including Shawn hurts because he was so underrated. Edited June 3, 2020 by DirtyDez

If it were truly the best of the best only C-Webb gets in. How many injuries did he have and kept transforming his game to remain elite. Though injuries definitely played a part in that.
seminoles1
Marc Gasol Y | N -International success outs him over the top. Had just enough NBA success to get in Andre Iguodala Y | N -Nope. Not good enough. Played a key role for a great team, but it's not the 60s anymore. Needed more top level play LaMarcus Aldridge Y | N -You make 5 All-NBA teams, then you're gonna make it Kyle Lowry Y | N -Arguably the best and most important player in franchise history barely gets him in Kevin Love Y | N -Had he stayed healthy and put up some big total stats he would have had a good shot. He has a small window to still add to his resume, but I don't think he ends up doing enough to put him in Shawn Marion Y | N -See Andre Iguodala Ben Wallace Y | N -Easy Chris Webber Y | N -See LaMarcus Aldridge Chauncey Billups Y | N -This is tough. Best player on a title team gets him in I think Amar'e Stoudemire Y | N -See LaMarcus Aldridge

Before the knee injuries in Sacramento he dealt with reoccurring shoulder dislocations during his Washington days. He was robbed by the bball Gods. Webber definitely peaked higher than Aldridge but I wouldn't say he was a tier higher than Amare. At their best it's pretty debatable who was better.

Aldridge I'll agree with though. The PF talent in the West in the early 2000s was just ridiculous.

He was better at that one dimension than Webber was at anything else though. Amare was pretty easily a better scorer, they were virtually identical as rebounders, Webber was a way better playmaker and Webber was better on defense. They had comparable longevity.
