That’s not what OTC is showing.

What do you think happens? If you cut someone after the start of the league year that you no longer are on the books ever for prorated bonuses?

It will save us money in 2023 league year because you cut him after that it goes to the following year. Been that way forever.

Go to OTC and look at the cap number in 2024 after you select cut after June 1

I did, it shows a 3.75 million dollar cap hit with a savings of 5.1 million.

Pre June 1 has a 8.85 million cap hit with zero savings.

I see this little blurb came out yesterday.  I wonder what took place that made Stef bench Myles at the start of the game?  On one hand, I like that Kevin is actually doing something when his players aren't following the rules, but it is troubling to think that Garrett is basically saying eff your rules.

Lets do it this way, we know his prorated bonus for 23-26 is 12.6. We also know when you cut someone all of his bonus is due, either at the time if before June 1 or the following year after June 1. I think what you are looking at is if he was cut after 2024, which isn't realistic because it's a voided year but on a regular contract if he was cut after 2024 your numbers would be accurate.

Post June 1 the money is spread over the 4 remaining years on the deal (including the void years).

This will be a no win situation for Stefanski.

Fans won’t care what Myles did, he’ll be right.

I mean if he was late for a meeting or missed a treatment he could have been sat for a starting series.

I'd say that was more likely than him being a FU to Stefanski

I have looked at jj3s contract and I don't love all those void years. He has been a miss of free agent pick.

I guess he stays based on the dc we get.

Meh it’s a couple years and the numbers are relatively low.  This is what literally every team is doing right now to manage the cap.
